Join in the First-Annual Campus Beautification Day

Pull on your work boots and roll up your sleeves! It's time to spruce up our campus and neighborhood at the first annual Campus Beautification Day. Faculty and staff are invited to participate in one of three projects.

Want to be outside? Pick up trash along the river or dig into our community garden. Does your own space need some help? Get your team together and fix it up!

Fruit, granola bars, and water coolers will be provided. Bring your own reusable water containers (sippy cup, Nalgene bottle, canteen) and additional snacks if you're planning to burn a lot of calories.

Campus Beautification Day will be Wednesday, June 11, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. After a day of good old-fashioned work, all are invited to attend the staff senate picnic in Murphy Park at 1 p.m.

Learn about the projects and sign up at www.augsburg.edu/marcomm/cbd

Agresso Software Changes

Augsburg will be upgrading the Agresso software during the first part of June. This upgrade will result in a few changes to the appearance of the Agresso screens, both for those users who access Agresso directly through the client application, as well as for users who use the web interface. Please note that these screen changes will not effect the appearance of the student web. We will be having some open sessions for people to come and become familiar with these screen changes.

The open session are:

Tuesday, May 27, noon in Lindell 15
Thursday, May 29, 9 a.m. in Lindell 15
Monday, June 2, 3 p.m. in Lindell 15

If you are unable to attend any of these open sessions, you can use these links to follow video demonstrations of the screen changes.

Volunteers Needed for U.S. Women's Open

Augsburg women's golf coach Laura Patrick passes along this message about volunteering for the U.S. Women's Open golf tournament next month. If you would like more information, contact Laura 763-694-7674 or at patrickl@augsburg.edu.

*****

My name is Laura Patrick and I am the women's golf coach at Augsburg. I also work for Three Rivers Park District as a golf professional. Our First Tee Program was chosen as the sole charity of the program sales at this summer's U.S. Women's Open. The First Tee is a junior golf program that promotes character development through golf education (while providing access to anyone who wants to participate regardless of race, gender, or economic background).

As the volunteer coordinator and an instructor of The First Tee of Three Rivers Park District, I am in charge of recruiting volunteers to sell programs at the tournament during the week of June 23-29 at Interlachen Country Club.

Since this is such a great deal, and I know that many of you play golf, I wanted to extend this great opportunity to score some free tickets to the U.S. Open while volunteering to help a great cause. We are asking that each volunteer work two four-hour shifts over the course of the week. If your schedule only permits one shift over the course of the week, you can still volunteer. In return for your time and energy while volunteering, you will receive a free U.S. Open Credential good for entry during the entire week of the championship ($150 value), a t-shirt with The First Tee logo to be worn while volunteering, and free meals at the volunteer tent while on duty.

You will need to call the Park District reservations department at 763-559-6700 to register for the shifts. When registering, please tell the reservation's staff to put the word "Augsburg" in the "Roster Notes." That way, I can track how many people from Augsburg sign up. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up ASAP.
