Message: Credit refunds for Augsburg for Adults, Rochester, Nursing, and Graduate (including PA) students will be available Friday, September 21 after 1 p.m. Rochester checks will be mailed Friday afternoon. All other checks not picked up Friday by 6:00 p.m. or Saturday by 1:30 p.m. will be mailed Monday.

Refunds for Day students will be available Friday, September 28 after 1 p.m. Checks not picked up after one week will be mailed to the student's permanent address.

Students receiving a check will see a "Credit Refund" posted on their AugNet Account Activity screen on the day the check is available. A credit balance (e.g. -$1,532.09) does not mean a refund has been processed. See our refund policy at http://www.augsburg.edu/enroll/account/creditrefund.html for more information.

Why would you contact Classroom Services? Here are a few examples of calls we've received this past week:
* you need to request a different classroom for your section
* you are in need of additional classroom supplies such as dry erase markers and erasers, chalk and erasers, overhead transparency markers
* you wish to report a problem or request assistance with any of the classroom technology, or request additional technology (i.e. slide projector or document camera)
* you want to report other classroom issues such as damaged furniture, temperature problems, a liquid or food spill on the carpeting

This is the very first of this year’s Soup & Sexuality series taking place on the first Tuesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. The topic of this month's session will be "Sexuality & You."

Message: The Augsburg College Writing Lab will open for fall semester on Monday, Sept. 10. Located on the ground floor of Lindell Library (left of the circulation desk), the lab provides one-on-one tutoring for writing any paper in any discipline in the College. Hours are as follows (no appointments are necessary):

Mondays: 6:30 - 9 PM
Tuesdays: 3 - 5:30 PM and 7:30 - 10 PM
Wednesdays: 3-5 PM and 6:30 - 9 PM
Thursdays: 3 - 5:30 PM
Fridays: 6 - 8 PM (NOTE THIS NEW, ADDITIONAL TIME)
Sundays: 5:30 - 8 PM

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (URGO) will be hosting a GRE prep course on campus this semester for current students and alums. Message: Counseling and Health Promotion will once again be sponsoring free yoga and tai chi each week starting on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007. Yoga will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon - 1 p.m. in the Marshall Room and tai chi will be held from 5 - 6 p.m. Tuesdays only in the Century Room (lower level of Christensen Center). The Minnehaha Food Shelf is seeking a part-time employee to serve as
administrator. It is our hope to have a person in place by as soon as
possible.

The Minnehaha Food Shelf is located at Minnehaha United Methodist Church (conveniently located a few blocks from the light rail line in South Minneapolis), 3701 East 50th Street, and is a cooperative effort of Minnehaha, Lake Nokomis Lutheran and St James Episcopal Churches. We serve Minneapolis households south of Lake Street and East of Cedar Avenue.

This position has two main facets - administering the food shelf
(maintaining documentation and statistics) and hospitality (greeting
clients, setting the tone).

Responsibilities include:

a.. Greeting clients
b.. Verifying eligibility and documentation
c.. Completing and submitting reports on food shelf usage
d.. Acknowledging donations
e.. Maintaining relationships with partner agencies
f.. Overseeing the food procurement and distribution process
g.. Problem solving

Qualifications Required:

a.. Active faith in God and mission of service
b.. Strong and outgoing personality
c.. Hospitality skills
d.. Organizational skills
e.. Microsoft Office computer skills necessary for responsibilities (basic
spread sheet, word processing, internet access and database)
f.. Reliability
Hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 3:00pm (could be 12:30-3:30)
plus 3 hours of prep time. Stipend for 15 hours per week is $150, paid
bi-weekly, as a contract consultant (1099 provided at the end of the year).
