Subject: Help, the fridge is getting full - Campus Kitchen
Submitter:
Brian Noy, Campus Kitchen Coordinator, Center for Service, Work and Learning

Message: Today, the dining services received a massive amount of food to prepare for the surge of students next week. Incidently, the campus kitchen received all our organic vegetable CSA shares as well as a huge donation from the fine farmers at the Ebenezer farmers' market. The fridge is overflowing - help us clear it out!

We're especially supportive of extra hands in the kitchen this coming week as the transition happens (I assume that most of you could use some help as well, and I'll try to help if you let me know ;) Please let us know if any of the shifts below work out in your schedule. Thanks!

Subject: What's happening in the old bookstore space?
Submitter:
Ann L Garvey, Vice President of Student Affairs, Student Affairs

Message: A frequently asked question lately is "What's happening with the old bookstore space?" now that Oren Gateway and the new bookstore is open.

Members of the Orientation Team will assist the Christensen Center Task Force and decorate the windows of the space. You'll notice the interior has been re-arranged for short-term use for some events during Auggie Days and the coming weeks.

The plan is to address some plumbing and other infrastructure issues. We're not sure how long this will take, but once done, we will create student lounge space. The hope is that this can be accomplished by the end of fall semester/trimester. We will keep the campus informed as we go along.

The Christensen Center Task Force will host community meetings during fall trimester/semester to inform campus members of the future plans for the building and to continue to seek input. Watch for news in the coming days.

For information on activities to date, please check out our website at www.augsburg.edu/cctf

Subject: Farmers' Market at Brian Coyle - Fridays from 2-5
Submitter:
Brian Noy, Campus Kitchen Coordinator, Center for Service, Work and Learning

Message: The Brian Coyle Community Center is hosting a weekly farmers' market every Friday from 2 to 5 near the front doors of the building. A few local farmers, including a very local farmer from the Korean Peace Garden, will ensure that your fridge and cuisine is full of the freshest products around. These farmers have also been kind enough to donate to our Campus Kitchen.

Please go soon, as many of the farmers lost much of their crops during the storms this last week.

Thanks, and enjoy the market!
