Theresa L Martin, Administrative Assistant, Center for Teaching and Learning

Message:

The Center for Teaching and Learning and the Vice President for Academic Affairs invites new staff and faculty to the annual orientation.

August 28th is designed to introduce you, or further inform you, about the Augsburg community and work culture along with a general overview of the College.

You are also invited to participate during fall term in a Faculty-Staff mentoring group. The mentoring groups are led by seasoned faculty and staff members and will be launched in early September with a dinner at the Augsburg House, hosted by President and Mrs. Pribbenow.. The group program is designed for you to meet informally with colleagues from other parts of the College and are an opportunity to make connections and share information.

Subject: United Way Lease to Own Rally
Submitter:
Sally Daniels, Director of Parent and Family Relations, Alumni-Parent Relations

Through its innovative Lease to Own program, United Way leases donated vehicles to low-income families. At lease end, after financial management and car care classes, they buy the cars for $1--gaining a reliable vehicle, new skills and improved credit rating. So...if you have a reliable car you would like to donate and/or have questions about the process, please contact Byron Laher at the Twin Cities United Way. Submitter:
Will O'Berry, Asst. Dir., Campus Activities & Orientation/Coord LGBTQIA Srv, Campus Activities and Orientation

Message: The Department of Campus Activities and Orientation is in the process of planning an event for Auggie Days entitled "Flavor: Sample the City." This event will be a fair in which the Augsburg community will be able to sample items from surrounding businesses and establishments. We hope that this event will give our students a broad perspective on what our vibrant community has to offer.

This event will take place on Monday, September 3 from 3 - 6 pm and will be located on the Foss Lawn on the corner of 22nd Avenue and Riverside Avenue. Check-in will be located there beginning at 2:30 pm.

In addition to the area businesses we have contacted we would like to welcome folks from the Augsburg community to join in this event. If you create art, cook, or own a small business and can feature some free items at an event like this, then please do so.

Simply fill out and return the following form to reserve a table: http://web.augsburg.edu/~oberry/Flavor_Sample_the_City_Reservation_Form.doc
