Subject: What's happening with the old bookstore space?
Submitter:
Ann L Garvey, Vice President of Student Affairs, Student Affairs

Message: A frequently asked question of late is "What's happening with the old bookstore space" now that Oren Gateway and the new bookstore is open.

In the next days the Christensen Center Task Force will decorate the windows and make arrangements to re-arrange the space for short-term use for some of the Auggie Days and other start-up events.

The plan is to address some plumbing and other infrastructure issues. We're not sure how long this will take, but once done, we will create student lounge space. The hope is that this can be accomplished by the end of fall semester/trimester. We will keep the campus informed as we go along.

The Christensen Center Task Force will host community meetings during fall trimester/semester to inform campus members of the future plans for the building and to continue to seek input. Watch for news in the coming days.

Brian Noy, Campus Kitchen Coordinator, Center for Service, Work and Learning

Message: (in response to someone's question last night: she's a darn good cleaner in addition to being just geniunely good natured)

My partner just left her full time job to focus on school and is looking for cleaning and organizing jobs for fall semester. She has years of professional experience (as well as cleaning up my messes), very attentive to details, can clean ecologically or conventionally (your choice), and most of all, she does it with a big heart.

You can contact me or Évi Noy directly at evifink@gmail.com and 612-978-3471.
