Facilities Management Customer Service Survey

Approximately 18 months ago, the Facilities Management Department put out a survey in an effort to improve customer service in our department. We are, once again, posting this short (5-10 minute) survey to get current input from faculty and staff regarding the state of our departmental services. This survey will help us gauge areas that are still of concern to the Augsburg community and areas in which we may have improved.

To complete the survey, please go to the Inside Augsburg page on the Augsburg website and log in. Then, click the Facilities Customer Survey link located under the ‘More News' section. You may respond anytime between now and Friday, April 23.

Thank you for your time and input!

Reminder of Grade Submission Changes

As the end of the spring semester draws near, please remember that changes in the submission of I, X and W grades has taken effect.

Faculty will be able to choose the traditional numeric grade options and pass/no-pass options. However, faculty will no longer be able to select I, X, or W from the pull-down menu. Each of these special situations will be processed as indicated below.

Incomplete (I) Grades
Faculty members will be asked to submit the grade that the student has earned at the end of the semester, even if the student has requested an incomplete. Once the student has submitted the incomplete paperwork, the grade will automatically be replaced by an I grade. At the end of the time allotted for the incomplete, the faculty member can simply send an Email to Mary Stimpson (stimpson@augsburg.edu) in the registrar's office to indicate the grade the student earned. At the end of the incomplete deadline, the faculty member should either submit the original grade or an updated grade based on the work the student has completed.

Extension (X) Grades
Faculty members have given X grades to allow an extension for internships, independent studies or directed studies that last for more than one term. If a faculty member wants to allow an extension for that type of activity, the faculty member can Email Mary Stimpson (stimpson@augsburg.edu) in the registrar's office to indicate the grade should be an X.

Withdrawal (W)
Students must follow the normal academic procedures to withdraw from a course and receive a W. The only exception is the use of the W grade in I-term. I-term W grades will be submitted to Mary Stimpson (stimpson@augsburg.edu) in the registrar's office.

Portfolio Workshops

Thursday, May 6, 12:30-3:30 or
Thursday, May 13, 9:00-noon
Lindell Library 202

The purpose of this workshop is to help candidates determine the various forms of evidence that can help build a strong portfolio. The focus is on evidence of teaching, but the strategies directly apply to scholarship and service as well. This workshop is not designed to replace departmental guidance and advice nor is it an analysis of the Handbook language as it applies to an individual; it does not represent the views of the CTP committee. Rather, this is a long standing CTL opportunity to help support candidates' preparation and is one that many colleagues have found to be useful. Facilitated by Diane Pike. RSVP to martin@augsburg.edu or x1229.
