Missing Graphing Calculator

I am missing a Texas Instruments Model TI 84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator. It has a black cover over it and if uncovered, has a silverish gray band around the display screen. The last place I remember using it was in a tutoring session for a math class I am in which took place in Old Main room #204. I need to find the calculator ASAP as I am taking a quiz for the class tomorrow morning at around 10;30 A.M.

If the calculator is found, please call Clifford Bruber before 10;30 A.M. or after 12;00 P.M. at:

(612) 373 8073 (dorm phone number)

OR:

(651) 398 0578 (cell phone number)

Thanks,
Clifford Bruber

Faculty Scholarship Roundtables 2009

Thursday 26th March
4-5:45 p.m.

*Oren Gateway Johnson Conference Center*
*Gage Gallery* Oren Atrium

In order to build our academic community and recognize the professional work of colleagues, the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Office of the Dean invite your participation in the Faculty Scholarship Forum. This event is an opportunity for faculty to showcase their research and creative projects. The format involves two rounds of presentations to a generalist audience—4 to 4:40 and 5:00 to 5:40 on Thursday March 26th. Appetizers will be offered during the "intermission."

You are invited to present in one time slot and learn about other colleagues' work in the second slot. We hope many faculty members, chairs, staff, and administrators will support their department colleagues by attending the sessions. Each presenter gives a 20 minute roundtable talk followed by 15 minutes of discussion with an audience of 6-8 faculty and staff colleagues. Please bring handouts or objects as no electronic support is available for this type of presentation. If you need a particular time slot to present, let us know.

Faculty from all disciplines create scholarship throughout their careers. This event is a wonderful opportunity to discover what that looks like from many different perspectives. In particular, faculty recently returned from sabbatical, as well as those who received research and travel grants are asked to participate. This is also an excellent venue for newer faculty members to introduce their talents. Your participation as an audience member is essential. Please join us in celebrating this vibrant aspect of our professional life together.

Very brief abstract forms are available on the CTL web page, www.augsburg.edu/ctl We plan to offer 14-16 different presentation (6-8 different faculty members each round).

Abstracts due March 13th

NB: This event replaces the faculty presentations at Zyzzogeton which will be held in April and focus on student work.

Show Off Your Writing Talents

Senior English Majors:

Are you interested in reading something you have written while here at Augsburg? The English Department will be having an "open book reading" this spring. The English professors are working with us on creating an event where we could share our writings with family, faculty and friends. Please reply to either one of us if you would like to read some of your work.

The reading will take place April 17 and will be followed with a reception, including dessert and thoughtful conversation with friends, family and faculty. If you have any other recommendations or questions, feel free to contact us or any of the professors in the English department. The event is being created for us! Thank you for your help!

Rotaract

This Sunday (March 8) from 4pm to about 4:30 pm there will be an informational session about Rotaract in OCG 100. Rotary is a community organization for business professionals across the globe. Rotaract is a division of Rotary that is designed for college students and new professionals. It is a great networking program and a great way to give back to the community you are in.

At the meeting will be current Rotarians and members of other Rotaracts to answer questions you may have. We will be establishing a community Rotaract so even if you are graduating there is reason to join in. There will also be food provided for those coming. If you are interested in a Rotary Ambassadorial scholarship, or just the opportunity to establish some connections in the Minneapolis business community, please join us for this brief informational meeting.

Questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Support Auggies in the Breast Cancer 3-Day

Please support me in solidarity with Jessica Nathanson and Kristin Anderson, as I walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. On the weekend of August 21st-23rd, 2009 thousands of women and men will unite and walk 60 miles through the Twin Cities. The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it.

Net proceeds from the Breast Cancer 3-Day benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure to fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs, as well as the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, which provides an endowment for breast cancer initiatives.

Please read my story and consider donating at: http://www.the3day.org/goto/emilyrandall
