Security and Facilities Announcements

Important Parking Info - Saturday, Nov. 17

Saturday, Nov. 17 will be a very busy day at Augsburg College. In addition to weekend classes, the college is hosting a wrestling tournament and funeral which, combined, may draw an additional 800 to 1,000 people to campus.

Attendees at these events have been instructed NOT to park on campus as our lots are reserved for our weekend students and employees. Signs will be placed around campus to direct attendees to off-campus parking at Fairview Riverside Hospital. However, it is possible that some attendees will either not understand or ignore this message and will park in our campus lots.

We encourage everyone coming to campus on Saturday, Nov. 17, to arrive early and, if possible, to carpool. If all campus lots are full, students and employees may park in the YELLOW ramp at Fairview Riverside Hospital. The YELLOW ramp is on 23rd Ave, about 1 ½ blocks north of Riverside Avenue. The link below will take you to a map showing the location of the YELLOW ramp.

http://www.university.fairview.org/fv/groups/intranet/@parking/documents/intranet/c_078511.pdf

If you park in the YELLOW ramp, you MUST stop by the Public Safety Desk in the Urness/Mortenson lobby and get a “free parking” voucher. Give the voucher to the ramp attendant as you leave. If you do not have a voucher, you will have to pay to leave the ramp. This voucher is only valid for Saturday, Nov. 17 and only for the YELLOW ramp.

Please allow yourself extra time to find an appropriate and legal parking space this Saturday. If you have any questions, please call Public Safety Dispatch at 612-330-1717. This telephone is answered all day, every day.
