Accounts Payable Check Run - Thanksgiving Week

Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Accounts Payable checks will be processed on Wednesday, Nov. 21 instead of Friday, Nov. 23.

If you were expecting a check for Nov. 23, it will be either mailed or it can be picked up anytime after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 in the Science Building, Suite 152. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact Amy Daugherty at x1031.

Augsburg for Adults Holiday Lunch

The Augsburg for Adults office is hosting a holiday lunch. We would like to celebrate the season as well as the launch of the Augsburg for Adults office.

This informal, open-house style lunch is designed to help our faculty, staff, and students network and mingle, both within their departments and across departments.

Somali Textile and Photography Receptions Friday

Community receptions for "Threads of Community" and "10.10.10" are this Friday, Nov. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Christensen Center.

Special vans will shuttle visitors to the East African Women's Center at Riverside Plaza to see this amazing "home away from home" for women and children. Meet your Somali neighbors, taste East African food, purchase textiles, quilts, and other sewing projects made by hand.

Weight Watchers Begins Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the first Weight Watchers meeting of our new series! It's not too late to join, either. This week's meeting will be held in the Century Room, Christensen Center. Weigh in is from 1:30 - 2 p.m., and the meeting begins at 2 p.m. Come join us!

International Business Abroad, Summer 2008 Update

Business professors Steve Zitnik and Lori Peterson are leading the International Business study abroad program to Germany this summer 2008. Students can take BUS 362 International Business and earn one Augsburg credit. BUS 495 is no longer being offered on this program. The program fee has been set at $2,825, with other costs estimated to be $325.

This is a great opportunity to develop cross-cultural skills, deepen your understanding of business on a global scale, and take advantage of an experience that will enhance your resume!

Thanks for a Successful Turkeypalooza Food Drive!

Thank you to all the individuals, departments, and offices that generously contributed enough food to provide over 700 Thanksgiving meals! We even had enough of a surplus that we were able to pass along six turkeys as well as plenty of other items to the Brian Coyle Community Center's food shelf.

The winning department in terms of sheer volume of donations was the Physician Assistant Department with 222 cans of green bean casserole, 92 cans of cream of mushroom soup, four turkeys, and $30. It was an excellent demonstration of mobilization of staff, faculty, and students.

Other notable mentions are the President's Office (nearly one turkey per person plus a bundle of potatoes), the Wrestling Team with 10 turkeys, the Psychology department and their 60 boxes of stuffing, and Health and Physical Education and MBA, who brought a little of everything we needed. An additional thank you goes to Nursing, Enrollment, HR, CLASS, Social Work, Athletics, Alumni Relations, Dean's Office, and Marketing.

Please join us as we feast today (Thursday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Brian Coyle Community Center for the annual Multi-cultural dinner. In addition to our typical Thanksgiving contribution, explore Somali, Ethiopian, and Korean flavors.

SOA Prayer Vigil Monday

Campus Ministry and CSA invite you to be a part of a 12-hour prayer vigil in solidarity with those who are down in Georgia and in remembrance of those who have been affected or suffered. We offer this as a time for our Campus to intentionally lift a day up in prayer for the peace of our world. Please consider signing up for a 30 minute slot.

The vigil will take place in the Harbo Chapel (located across from the restrooms behind admissions in Christensen Center). You may spend this time in whatever form of prayer or meditation is significant to you, in your own silence, or in community. ALL are welcome.

While all are invited to stop by at any point in the day, in order to maintain a full 12 hours, we are looking for persons interested in signing up for a 30 minute slot at the following times:

Cary Waterman in 10,000 Arts

Auggie Intramural Sports Update

The coed soccer league schedules have been made and were posted on the IM board downstairs in Melby. The captains of the eight teams were also sent an e-mail with some basic rules for league as well as the schedule for tonight's games. Please check out what time your team plays sooner rather than later to ensure that everyone on your team is aware that the league is starting tonight and what time your team plays. We look forward to seeing you all on the field.

Also, keep your eyes open for a three-on-three basketball tournament to be held sometime in early December. There will be both a men's and women's division pending enough interest from both sides. There should be information posted on the IM board downstairs in Melby by early next week.

Lost Wallet

My friend was here visiting over the weekend and lost his wallet, probably right outside Anderson Hall. If you have found it, or do find it, please return it to me, Sinda Tuttle, 507-271-7568, or CB 2894.
The name on the cards and whatnot inside the wallet is Brandt Stevenson. It's a brown Fossil wallet with indentations on its surface.

There is $20 in that wallet, and I've been authorized to offer that $20 as a reward for whoever finds the wallet and returns it.

Please help me get Brandt's wallet back!
