Message: The visitation for Sherry Engebretsen, mother of incoming first-year student Jessica Engebretsen, will be held on Tuesday, August 7 from 4 – 8 pm at the Holcomb-Henry-Boom Funeral Home (515 Highway 96 West, Shoreview). The visitation will continue on Wednesday morning at Incarnation Lutheran Church (4880 North Hodgson Road, Shoreview), from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.

The family prefers that memorials be given in Sherry’s honor to the Sherry Engebretsen Memorial Fund, c/o Thriven Financial Bank, 625 Fourth Avenue South, Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

Message: Discover all the exciting features of the new Oren Gateway Center tomorrow from 1:30 to 3:30. Explore this new building, just as it’s ready for move-in. Pick up a floor plan at the welcome desk area to guide you around the areas. Stop in to see the great selection of books and Auggie gear at the Augsburg Bookstore and taste some treats at Nabo—A Neighborhood Café.

You may also visit a room in the residence hall before students are all moved in. This beautiful living and learning environment will be home to our special interest and StepUP students.

On Wed., Sept. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., there will also be an Open House to explore the building and visit the offices, bookstore, and Nabo. Stay tuned for details.

Message: Jerren Schaden, former Augsburg food service employee and younger brother of Tony Schaden (Class of 2006), died on Thursday evening.

Jerren’s funeral will be held in the Hoversten Chapel (Foss Center) on Wednesday, August 8, at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation 5-8 PM, Tuesday at the THOMSON-DOUGHERTY MANSION, 2535 Park Avenue, also 1 hour prior to service at Augsburg. Our prayers are with Tony, his mother, Katie, sister, Junia, and brothers, Jerrdel and Eli.
