Subject: Thanks for the Thanks!

Submitter:
Cindy G Peterson, Director, American Indian Student Services

Message: Thanks to all those who gifted me with their presence at the celebration on Thurs. 6/7. (And to those who couldn't be present physically but certainly were there in spirit!) It was a delight to see everyone and hear testimonials of how my work and presence has touched you all. I am leaving a strong program in a good place. I look forward to the challenges ahead working with the Scholastic Connections program and to continuing to work with you all in this new capacity.

Chii-mii-gwech!
Cindy

Message: Join us today for an art "meet and munch." Take a moment to meet Adam Paul Johnson and learn more about his paintings that are featured in "From a Parallel Place" in the Christensen Center Art Gallery. After lunch, enjoy dessert courtesy of the Art Galleries. See you at noon!

Subject: Student Leadership Development Survey

Submitter:
Will O'Berry, Assistant Director, Campus Activities & GLBTQA Advisor, Campus Activities and Orientation

Message: The Augsburg College mission is to “nurture future leaders in service to the world ...” Thus, an Augsburg education asks students to fully explore what kind of persons they will be and how they will live meaningfully in the world. An Augsburg education involves the whole student. Faculty and staff are partners in each student’s education. This holistic approach by Augsburg matches very well with the C. Charles Jackson Foundation's mission and values.

Augsburg received a grant from the Jackson Foundation to support a one-year project to analyze the leadership activities currently in place within the co-curricular program on campus. The key purpose of this project is to review current practices around student leadership development and to determine their consistency with the College’s mission.

Here is your opportunity to be a part of this exciting task by completing this short survey and sharing your experience/involvement with leadership development. Please follow this link to the survey: http://academics.augsburg.edu/surveys/leadership.survey

The records of this study will be kept private. In any sort of report that we might publish, we will not include any information that will make it possible to identify any specific student. Research records will be kept in a secure file on a secure server.

Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relationships with Augsburg College. Questions regarding this survey can be directed to Ramon L. Knox, Christensen Center 1B, 612-330-1111.

On behalf of the Augsburg Leadership Committee, we thank you in advance for your assistance. Committee members: Nina Exley, Ann Garvey, Ramon Knox, and Will O’Berry.
