Message: On Friday, Oct. 20 we are asking all students, faculty, and staff that primarily park in the L lot on campus to park at Fairview's Yellow Parking Ramp. You can pick up your free parking pass at the Welcome Desk in Christensen Center starting Monday, Oct. 16 through Wednesday, Oct. 18 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 19 you can pick up your passes at Event Services in the Lower Level of Christensen between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
These passes will be distributed on a first come first served basis.

Message: GenEd Speaking Consultation rescheduled 10/18

All full and part-time faculty who teach courses that contain a speaking skill are required to have attended a "consultation" on that particular skill. For fall semester, faculty members may teach skill courses provided they attend a scheduled session. (If you have attended an appropriate skills consultation in the past it is not necessary to attend again.)

Speaking: Wednesday, October 18, 3:30-5:30 location TBA.

It is important that you pre-register. In the past we have cancelled workshops due to lack of registered participants. To reserve a space call x1229 or e-mail martin@augsburg.edu


Subject: New Faculty Advisor Training

Message: As we approach the middle of the term, I will be conducting a training for all new faculty advisors in preperation for Spring Registration. The training will be held on November 2 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. in the Augsburg Room in the Christensen Center. We will focus on advising/ registration policies and procedures, the Augsburg Core Curriculum and provide information on principles and best practices in academic advising.

All advisors are encouraged to begin setting up appointments with their advisees for the beginning of November. Hopefully, this will hellp to make things less stressful in the days just prior to and throughout registration which runs November 13– 21.

Representatives from Metro Transit, Metro Commuter Services, HOURCAR, Augsburg Bike Commuters and Transit for Livable Communities will be on hand to answer your questions and provide solutions to the single occupancy vehicle commute. Check out the Park and Ride, Bike and Ride, Express Bus and Guaranteed Ride Home options for public transit users. Learn about the excellent bike trail system that leads to campus and other destinations in the metro area. Bring you questions and let these representatives help you avoid the daily driving and parking hassles of using an automobile for your commute to campus.

Message: INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL AND BASKETBALL SIGN-UP STARTS TODAY!

-You can find registration forms next to the NEW Intramural Bulletin Board located in the basement of Si-Melby (right across from the weight room).

-Volleyball teams must have 6 or more players, at least 3 being female.

-There is a men's and women's 3-on-3 basketball league starting as well!

-Completed rosters are due October 20 and games start October 30. A schedule will be made once all rosters are turned in.


*The flag-football season has officially started! Come out and watch Thursday night at 9 p.m. and stay for Ultimate Frisbee at 10:30!

Message: With three other authors, Bruce Reichenbach published a book with InterVarsity Press entitled, THE NATURE OF ATONEMENT: FOUR VIEWS. The four authors lay out their respective views of the atonement and then critically interact with each other. Reichenbach focused on the Eastern Orthodox view of atonement as healing.

TRYOUTS: The team will be holding an Open Practice/Tryout on Monday, October 30th from 7:30-10 p.m. in Si Melby Gym. Tryouts will include learning new material (a dance and a cheer) and each person will be evaluated on his/her ability to learn and perform.

Message: I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX, 4 door, Seattle Silver exterior, burgundy interior, with A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, power sunroof, Am/FM radio and cassette player, driver side air bag,

The car has been well maintained, (maintenance history available) has had a single owner (me!) and has only 140,000 miles.
The interior is like new, the exterior has no scratches or dents but there is some rust on the back fenders, typical of '92 Hondas.
