Message:

I want to take this time to invite you to Campus Connections on Friday, Oct. 13 at noon. We will begin with a short program in the Minneapolis Room, and will go through the cafeteria line at 12:20 so everyone will have time to eat before a 1 p.m. class commitment.

Mostly this is a time to gather as a community and have lunch with a colleague you might not know, or reacquaint yourself with someone you may have met at Orientation. The program will be entertaining and the food plentiful.

I am looking forward to seeing you there.

Carol Knicker

Dates of the remaining Campus Connections are:
November 10
December 8
January 19
February 16
March 9
April 13 (a celebratory party)

It is important that you pre-register. In the past we have cancelled workshops due to lack of registered participants. To reserve a space call x1229 or e-mail martin@augsburg.edu

More information?

Madeleine Peyroux, the smoky voiced singer who performed for a sold out crowd at the Pantages last summer, has put the finishing touches on her new as-yet-untitled album, set for release September 12 on Rounder Records. She will showcase her new work along with songs from her highly acclaimed albums ‘Dreamland’ and ‘Careless Love’ when she returns to Minneapolis to perform at the State Theatre on October 13 at 8 p.m.

Peyroux spent the month of April in Los Angeles recording with producer Larry Klein, who worked with the singer on her worldwide million selling smash 'Careless Love,' which includes the sultry standout track “Don’t Wait Too Long.” Klein recently told the Wall St. Journal that Peyroux is working with an "expanded palette," while the newspaper predicted the new album "may expand...her audience."

In addition to landing on Newsweek and the Wall St. Journal’s lists of top ten albums of the year (among many others), 'Careless Love' is nearing Gold in the US and is currently Gold in the UK, France and Australia.
