Subject: Last Chance for Lunch with Vocatio Chapel Speaker

Message: On Wednesday, October 11, Augsburg College continues the Vocatio Chapel Series, “How Are We Known: Vocation and Public Life”. The Rev. Michael Sherer will be our special guest in chapel at 10:20 a.m..

Michael is the editor of the Metro Lutheran Metro Lutheran is a monthly tabloid newspaper published for all Lutherans in Minneapolis, St. Paul, their suburbs, and the 20 counties surrounding the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Copies of the print edition are distributed monthly through nearly 700 Lutheran congregations of all synods. The Metro Lutheran is also available on the Augsburg campus free of charge.

Mike will come to share about his experiences reporting on Lutheran Life to Lutherans in Lutheran Land. He will also be eating lunch at 11 a.m. with students, faculty and staff who are interested in a deeper conversation.

Message: The Electric Arc Radio Show at the Ritz Theater in Northeast Mpls is offering the Augsburg community tickets for their Oct. 14, 4 p.m. show at a discount ($5).

The Electric Arc is a serial radio show that details the lives and times of the members of the Lit 6 Project house. With a narrator (who lives in the attic) and a full original musical score, it's like an episode of Laverne and Shirley produced Off-Off-Broadway starring four out of work writers.

Message: Intramurals are starting up so get your teams together in time for the first game!

Flag football and Ultimate Frisbee teams will start this Thursday, October 12 from 9 - midnight.

-Designate a captain and have them pick up a registration packet at the Welcome Desk. Bring your completed roster to the first game.
-Teams must have a minimum of 6 players and are encouraged to be co-ed.
-The length of the season will depend on the number of participants but is scheduled to run through the first week of November.

Message: The Campus Kitchen at Augsburg College (CKAC) was recognized with an award for Excellence in Operations last weekend at the annual Campus Kitchens Project Leadership Conference, held in Washington, DC. The award was presented in recognition of CKAC's high capacity operations, outstanding performance in meal preparation and delivery, and strong, engaged student leaders. Senior Jeanette Clark was also recognized as a nominee for the Campus Kitchen Project's Leah Prudhomme Volunteer of the Year Award.
