WEST BANK STORY
Book & Lyrics by John Bueche - Music by Marya Hart - directed by Maren Ward

Bedlam unleashes a historic new musical celebrating the life and times of Minneapolis' high rising, rabble rousing West Bank neighborhood.

Developed through two years of research, storytelling, wrangling and cavorting at a real Minnesota crossroads. Bedlam brings together 18 performers, a five piece live band, and an evolving revolving cardboard cityscape to portray one neighborhood in three pivotal time periods:
1898 - the time of Bohemian flats and Snoose Boulevard
1972 - a time for a new Co-op Movement and a New-Town-in-Town
2006 - a time of Little Africa and Tall Bicycles in a Minneapolis that's booming all over again....

Message: Track and Field -- Augsburg's Tonnisha Bell earns two All-America honors at NCAA Division III outdoor national championships

http://www.augsburg.edu/athetics/track/

LISLE, Ill. (5/26/06) -- Tonnisha Bell (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) became the first Augsburg College track and field athlete since 1998 to claim two All-American honors in a single national championship meet, placing fourth in the women's 100-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash on Saturday at the NCAA Division III outdoor national championships at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.

Bell set a school record in the 200, running a wind-aided 24.38 seconds in the finals. She broke her record of 24.82 seconds, set earlier this season. Musu Jackson-Buckner of Oneonta State (N.Y.) won the event in a wind-aided 23.75 seconds.

In the 100, Bell was one-hundredth of a second from tying her school record, set earlier this season, of 11.95 seconds, running a wind-aided 11.96 seconds. Shanda Jackson of Lincoln (Pa.) won the event with an 11.66, wind-aided time.

The last Auggie to earn All-American honors in two events at a single national championship meet was Astrid Larssen, who finished third in the 100 and sixth in the 200 at the 1998 outdoor national championships.

Bell finished her collegiate career as one of the top sprinters in school history. With her two All-American honors on Saturday -- the first of her outdoor career -- she finished with five All-American honors. She finished second in the 55-meter dash earlier this season at the indoor national championships, while finishing sixth in the event twice earlier in her career.

She qualified for every indoor and outdoor NCAA championship meet -- eight -- in her Auggie career. In Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meets, Bell won 11 conference championships (six indoor, five outdoor) and earned All-MIAC honors 15 times (nine indoor, six outdoor) in her career.

Augsburg has qualified individuals in 56 different women's track and field events to national meets in school history (51 NCAA, five NAIA). Augsburg women's athletes have now earned 30 All-American honors and eight individual national championships in track and field in school history.

Also, Auggie teammate Angela Bergeson (Sr., Red Wing, Minn.) saw her collegiate track career end with competition in the women's 800-meter run preliminaries on Friday.

Bergeson competed in the women's 800-meter run preliminaries on Friday, finishing fourth in her heat race in 2:15.55. Her time was 16th-fastest among the 19 entrants in the event, with the top nine qualifying for the finals.
