Subject: Join In

Submitter:
Kathryn Croyle, Administrative Assistant to the VP, Institutional Advancement

Message: This is an invitation to all the Augsburg Community to join the Augsburg Associates, a volunteer group that raises money and donates their time to benefit Augsburg College. This group has raised money through their membership dues, silent auctions, and estate sales to donate such things as the organ in Hoversten Chapel, the Welcome Desk in Christensen, and renovation of some of the meeting rooms in Christensen. They also host Velcommen Jul, and bring in wonderful speakers for a Fall luncheon and a Spring Seminar each year. Abigail Pribbenow has agreed to speak at the Fall Luncheon on September 27th at the Town and Country Club in St. Paul.

Please consider joining this marvelous group of volunteers who continue to give back to Augsburg in numerous ways. Call Kathryn Croyle at ext. 1171 for a membership form. Dues are eligible for a Thrivent match -- everything benefits Augsburg College.

Subject: Join our Campus Crop Club!

Submitter:
Amy Sutton, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, Institutional Advancement

Message: Are you someone who enjoys scrapbooking but finds it hard to make time to work on your album projects? Have you ever wondered what this scrapbooking craze is all about or how to get started? Maybe you take lots of pictures and would simply like to learn a little more about how to organize and safely store your photos. Please join us one evening per month after work for fun and fellowship as we organize our pictures, share ideas and complete pages in our scrapbooks!

Our first Campus Crop Club meeting will be June 8th from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. in the Riverside room in the Christensen Center. Bring your photos, albums and supplies. Plus, great Creative Memories tools will be available for your use! Please contact Amy Sutton at 338-6533 or suttona@augsburg.edu or Marie Odenbrett at 330-1104 or odenbre1@augsburg.edu if you have any questions. You are welcome to join us for all or part of the evening or to just drop in. If you know you can attend, please let Amy know so we can plan snacks and surprises! If you are unable to attend in June but wish to receive the future meeting notices, please let Amy know. Hope to see you there!

Subject: Nursing Department Update

Submitter:
Sharon K Wade, Program Assistant, Nursing

Message: This summer we are saying "good bye" to three of our faculty/staff. Together, these three individuals have given over 40 years of service to Augsburg College. Dr. Pam Weiss, who has been teaching in the BSN program since 1983 and in the Masters program since 1999, will be leaving teaching to pursue her interest in integrative therapies and expertise in acupuncture. Luann Watson, who is an alumna of the BSN and MAL programs at Augsburg College and has worked in varying roles within the Department of Nursing for over 15 years, will be leaving to help launch her oldest daughter off to college in the fall and to pursue her own doctoral education. Dr. Kia James, who has been teaching in the BSN and Masters programs for the last two years, will be moving to the West Coast with her husband who has accepted a new position in the San Francisco area. We wish all of our colleagues the very best in their new endeavors. We will miss them and we are grateful for their contributions to our nursing programs.

You may send your well wishes to them at their Augsburg email addresses through the end of the summer:

Pam Weiss, weissp@augsburg.edu
Luann Watson, watson@augsburg.edu
Kia James, jamesk@augsburg.edu
