Subject: Keystone Workshop

Submitter:
Theresa L Martin, Administrative Assistant, Center for Teaching and Learning

Message: May 25 - Keystone Workshop

This work is part of the faculty development component expected for departments delivering keystone courses. It is designed for those currently and soon to be teaching keystones. It will be held in the Minneapolis Room from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Please rsvp to Russ Kleckley at kleckley@augsburg.edu by May 23rd.

Subject: Reminder: Picnic and Karaoke today!

Submitter:
Meghan R Flores, Associate Director of Financial Aid, Enrollment Center

Message: Have you been waiting all year to sing a special song for your boss, your work buddy, your colleague down the hall or a rival office on campus? Do you dream about becoming the next American Idol, or better yet Augsburg Idol? Do you sing in the shower and want to do it at work, but with clothes on, no water, and in Murphy Park rather than in the privacy of your own home? If your answer is 'yes' to any of these questions or I have just peaked your curiosity, than the Staff Senate Picnic is the place for you! Join us at 11:30 a.m. for food, fun, prizes and some undoubtedly laughable memories.

Our annual picnic will be today, May 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We plan to hold the picnic in Murphy Park, which should work out if all goes right. According to Paul Douglas we are expecting a 65 degree day with a 20% chance of showers. In the off chance that a meteorologist is wrong, we will gather in East Commons.

Shake your groove thing, shake your groove thing, yeah- yeah··

Subject: Receptions for two new art exhibits this Saturday!

Submitter:
Kerry Morgan, Coordinator of Galleries and Exhibits, Art

Message: Drop by this Saturday between 4 and 6 p.m. to celebrate the opening of two exciting art exhibitions!

In the Gage Gallery, "Invisible Spirit" showcases paintings, photographs, wearable art, and short films by Missy Whiteman and Jonathan Thunder. The artists will be giving a gallery talk about their work at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

In the Christensen Center Art Gallery, "Nesting Ground" features slip cast ceramic work by Kathleen Moroney. The artist will be giving a slide presentation about her work on Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. in the Marshall Room

Hope to see you this Saturday!

Subject: Farewell

Submitter:
Tracy Elftmann, Vice President for Advancement, Institutional Advancement

Message: With sadness and joy (sadness because we hate to see them go; joy because the reason they're leaving is we're nearing our $55 million campaign goal) we will say good-bye to some terrific members of our Development team. Part time gift officers Phil Quanbeck sr., George Sverdrup, and Ron Main; and Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, Stephanie Stuart, are leaving our employ at the end of this month. They have been great additions to our fundraising efforts and will, I'm sure, continue to be strong Augsburg ambassadors. Please join us in celebrating their good works on Thursday, May 25, in the Marshall Room from 9 - 10 a.m.
