Subject: Tuition Benefit Deadlines for 2006-07

Submitter:
Michele R Kidwell, Enrollment Assistant, Enrollment Management

Message:

Last spring it was announced that changes to the Tuition Benefit Policy were being considered. Since the Policy had not been thoroughly reviewed for over 25 years, the Program was reviewed to ensure compliance with current tax policy and to consider ways to create a more cost effective program. The revisions reflect tighter budgetary control over a rapidly increasing benefit cost that was found to be more liberal than similar institutions. One adjustment made was the decision to adhere to established tuition benefit application deadlines going forward.

For those employees utilizing the tuition benefit, deadlines for the Employee Tuition Benefit Application and Dependent Tuition Benefit Application will be enforced for the 2006-07 academic school year. Please make note of the following dates:

Fall Day, Weekend and Graduate Programs
Deadline: July 1

Winter Weekend, Graduate and Spring Day Programs
Deadline: December 1

Spring Weekend and Graduate Programs
Deadline: February 1

If your application is not submitted to the Human Resources Department by the above mentioned deadlines, you will not receive the tuition benefit.

For more information, the Human Resources Department has prepared a document that summarizes the key changes to the tuition benefit. The summary of key changes, the full benefit policies, and the summary grids can be found on the Human Resources public drive on Augnet.
