Subject: Volunteers for On-line Course Evaluation Pilot

Submitter:
Theresa L Martin, Administrative Assistant, Center for Teaching and Learning

Message:
As you know, we are hoping to add customized sections to the course evaluations to allow faculty, departments and programs to ask specific questions. While we are not at a place technically where we can do this for every course as originally hoped, we are going to be able to pilot this for a limited number of courses. If you would like to have a form for this spring day semester with additional questions, please contact Diane pike@augsburg.edu or Scott krajewsk@augsburg.edu by April 3rd

Subject: IMPORTANT - Augsburg College Day at the Capitol

Submitter:
Herald A Johnson, Director of Advancement Programs, Institutional Advancement

Message: Thursday, March 30, 2006, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Day at the Capitol is an important annual event for students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff of the College to meet with their legislators (representatives and senators) about student issues, primarily student financial aid programs. Over 660 Augsburg students receive about $2,000,000 per year from the State Grant Program alone.

Our purpose is to encourage continued support from our legislators for a broad range of financial aid programs for Minnesota students, especially the Minnesota State Grant Program. We will be given "talking points" to use in our meetings as well as advice on how to manage the time with the legislator.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

PLEASE RESPOND TODAY! Sign-up at http://www.mnprivatecolleges.org/capitol.

Subject: Friday, 3/31: Brainstorming for a Sustainable Life

Submitter:
Scott D McLennan, Student

Message: Modern society demands ever greater consumption of scarce resources, depriving the poor of the basic resources they need to live and destroying the global ecosystems that all life depends on.

This is not a good situation.
We need to create a better option.

Come to the Sustainable Life Project's Brainstorming Session and contribute your ideas for a sustainable future.

The Sustainable Life Project will draw on the ideas of Students, Faculty, and Members of the Augsburg Community to create a vision of a sustainable future that we want to live in and work to make it happen.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brainstorming Session:
Friday, March 31st at 6 p.m. in the City of Augsburg Room, Christensen Center.

For more information, contact Devin: mclennan@augsburg.edu

Subject: Till and Keep 2006 Recently Published!

Submitter:
Diane R Glorvigen, Lily Program Assistant, Exploring Our Gifts

Message: The Lilly Program has just published the latest issue of Till and Keep, an annual journal designed to stimulate reflection about meaning and purpose in daily life and to explore what it means to be called to service in the world

This year's issue delves into an important departure (President Frame) and arrival (David Tiede). It also features reflections on money (faculty member Jeanne Boeh and financial educator Nathan Dungan), on environmental stewardship (faculty member Michael Lansing), and on the WWII Holocaust (alumna Sue Kneen). In addition, you will find updates on all the exciting and worthwhile ways the College has been using the Lilly grant money.

Over the next few days we will be delivering copies of the journal to many campus offices. The number of copies of this issue is limited, so if you receive a copy, please share it with others.
