These awards recognize exemplary work by faculty and staff in support of teaching and learning at Augsburg College. Up to three awards are available annually in the areas of teaching, advising/mentoring, and service to students, thus reflecting the breadth of contributions important for a transforming education. Each award carries a stipend of $1000 as well as public recognition and celebration.

Awards will be based on evidence of student learning and student satisfaction provided by students and peers, weighted appropriately for each of the three areas of excellence. The selection process is as follows:

Ý The deadline for nominations is March 10, 2006. Nominations should be sent as an e-mail attachment (preferred) to martin@augsburg.edu or to Terry Martin, Campus Box 97. Nominations may be carried over from the previous year as well.

Ý Nomination forms consist of a one-page letter identifying the nominee and providing a 1-2 paragraph rationale for the nomination; in addition, nominators are asked to submit 2-4 names of students and/or colleagues who can speak to the nominee's work.

Ý The Selection Board will conduct confidential interviews with various members of the community and make awards by March 31st.
