Subject: Final Call for 2005 Absences!!

Submitter:
Linda M. Vlieger, Payroll / HRIS Coordinator, Human Resources

Message: I am sending out this reminder for all exempt staff to turn in any outstanding absence reports for the calendar year 2005.

The final deadline for these is Thursday, January 19th, in order for any 2005 paid time off days to be reflected on the January paycheck.

We have recently revised the Absence Report forms. The new form can be obtained by using the following link. Please use this new form in place of the old one.

http://web.augsburg.edu/~vlieger/absencereport.xls

I've heard some confusion expressed about when to turn in absence reports. I hope to clear up any of this confusion with this notice. An exempt employee that takes a day off that they would normally work must turn in an absence report noting the date, the number of hours, and what type of benefit time they are using. Absence reports are to be turned in for vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, president's holidays, bereavement (funeral), personal, leave without pay, short term disability, jury duty, suspension, work comp, unexcused absences, and those that qualify as FMLA time. Even when the college is officially closed, there is always somebody that has to work. We donāt assume that everybody had a particular day off.

For the holiday break, if you did not work, you would indicate 8 hours H (holiday) on 12/23 and 12/26, PH (President's Holidays) for 12/27, 12/28, and 12/29, and H for 12/30. If you worked your normal hours on one of those days, you wonāt need to record it as an absence. If you took another day off within the allotted time frame, mark the alternate day with the appropriate code.

Absence reports can be turned in as days are taken, or can be turned in at the end of each month. Ideally, any time off taken during the month should be turned in by the 10th of the next month to the Human Resources office. We would prefer to not have more than one month reported on one absence report.

Please keep this notice for future reference.

Thank you for your attention to this deadline. Have a happy new year!!!

Subject: Used Toyota Camry Wagon for Sale
Submitter:
Mary Lowe, Assistant Professor, Religion

Message: For Sale:

1988 Camry Station wagon....200,000 miles·.$250.00

The car is not pretty...but it runs! It has a few small dents and rust spots.

There is a slow but steady oil leak so the car needs oil about 1x a month.
The rear shocks need to be replaced.
It has started making a rubbing noise when you turn right at slow speeds.
The tires are in good shape. (Front tires are only 2years old)
The starter makes a scary noise when it is 10 below...but it always starts.
I don't drive it to Duluth, but I regularly drive it to Northfield and Redwing.

Please respnd to lowe@augsburg.edu
