Subject: Reminder: Enrollment Center will be closed

Submitter:
Paul L Terrio, Director of Student Financial Services, Enrollment Center

Message: Starting Wednesday, November 2nd, Augsburg will be converting to a new software system for student records & registration. Please note the following interruptions to our normal services:

--The Enrollment Center will be closed and AugNet Records & Registration will be offline starting at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 2nd until 8 a.m., Monday, November 7th. Starting Monday, November 7th at 8 a.m., you will notice a new look (but similar functionality) to the AugNet Records & Registration site.

--You will not be able to charge items from the Bookstore to your student account from noon-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2nd. Normal services will resume at the Bookstore on Thursday, November 3rd.

This conversion will allow us to develop many new on-line services for Augsburg students. We appreciate your patience during the transition.

Paul Terrio, Director of Student Financial Services
Leif Anderson, Chief Information Officer

Subject: Come for Lunch Today!

Submitter:

Come to nourish your body and your spirit, meet friends, and be yourself. Wednesday at 12:30. Bring something to share, or share with us if you forget to prepare or are unable to.

On Wednesday the 16th we will be meeting to discuss Jane Fonda's new book in preparation for her visit. Keep your eyes and ears open for details.

We are located in Sverdrup 207 (above the enrollment center)

Subject: Thrivent matching forms due on Monday

Submitter:
Betsey Norgard, Director of Publications, Public Relations and Communication

Message: All faculty and staff gifts to Augsburg's Access to Excellence campaign qualify for a 50% match from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans (formerly Lutheran Brotherhood). If you or a family member has a Thrivent policy or receives benefits, you are already a member and need only to complete a matching gift form.

If you aren't already a member, all of us who work at Augsburg, a Lutheran institution, qualify for associate membership for only $10.

By completing the easy application, your $10 Thrivent membership will trigger the extra 50% to your campaign contribution.

AND, remember that your contribution also increases Augsburg's giving rate and helps us qualify for part of the national Thrivent fund for colleges that significantly strengthen their giving programs.

The catch...you must submit all Thrivent forms (both Giving Plus matching forms and membership forms) to Augsburg's Development Office by Monday, Nov. 7--this coming Monday--to meet Thrivent's deadline. Everyone must submit a Giving Plus matching form to receive the match. For those who are not already Thrivent members, you must apply for membership at the same time.

For copies or .PDF files of the Giving Plus form and the associate membership application, call x1171 or e-mail croyle@augsburg.edu or stop at the Institutional Advancement office in Science 152. Send forms back to the Development Office, CB 142.

Subject: New Vision documents to be distributed
Submitter:
Daniel Jorgensen, Director of Public Relations, Public Relations and Communication

Message: The new Augsburg Vision document "The Augsburg Vocation: Access and Excellence," which has been developed over the past year as a replacement for the 1999 vision document titled "Augsburg 2004: Extending the Vision," has been published and will be distributed to all faculty and staff during the next couple of weeks.

As was the case for the first vision document, this one has been formulated out of discussions and consultation with a wide range of campus constituents, led by faculty members Joan Griffin and Mark Engebretson. It was adopted by the faculty and board of regents last spring.

Copies will be distributed through campus mail or departmental mailboxes by the H.R. department, and anyone seeking additional copies should contact H.R.

A sincere thank you to Joan, Mark and all who contributed to this new document, and to Betsey Norgard, who served as its general editor, and Stephen Geffre, whose photography was used to illustrate it.
