Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Lots of Excess Office Furniture

Beginning TODAY, August 20, you may claim excess furniture in the basement corridor of Foss for your personal use or to donate to a non-profit organization you support. Please walk all four sides and see lots of desks, file cabinets, misc. cabinets, chairs, even some carpeting! On any items that are NOT previously marked for an office location, place a sticky note with your name and 'PERSONAL'. Please haul away your item(s) by Friday, August 23. If you need reasonable additional time, please contact me via email and I will try to accommodate your request.

Teaching and Learning

Hands-on Agresso Training - Aug. 26 & Sept. 13

Budget Managers,

The Administrative Accounting and Finance office will be hosting two hands-on Agresso training sessions. We'll discuss how coding deposits and expenses impact your budget, where you are versus budget/outlook, and how to use Agresso web to find out.

These two training sessions will be in the Sverdrup 201 computer lab between 2-4 p.m. Our first session is Monday, August 26 and a second (identical) session will be Friday, September 13.

Remember this is a hands-on event where you will be probing the money coming in and going out. So bring your cost center number and questions!

Moodle Huddle Workshops Continues This Week

Moodle Huddle 2013
Strengthen Your Moodle Muscles

To help you gear up for the 2013-14 academic year, your IT User Support Team offers its Moodle Huddle workshop series for all Augsburg faculty and staff. These sessions will be streamed live and recorded for future viewing. Eighteen 20-minute sessions will be held in Sverdrup Hall, 2nd floor from 9 a.m. to noon each of the following days:

Hybrid Moodle Course Design Course

The first Face2Face session of a Hybrid Course Design Moodle Course for faculty will be offered at 1:00 p.m. on Aug 22 in OGC 103. The first session is a one hour session followed by two more online sessions and another Face2Face session offered according to participant choice.

Hosts Needed for Int'l Student Welcome Dinner

The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Office is currently looking for hosts who are interested hosting a welcome dinner for a small group (usually 3-5) of incoming international students between 5 and 8 p.m., Friday, August 30. Hosts will need to provide transportation back and forth between school and their homes. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Jie He at he@augsburg.edu. Harry Boyte Interviewed for CNN Documentary

Harry Boyte, Director of Augsburg's Center for Democracy and Citizenship was interviewed for the CNN documentary "We Were There, The March on Washington, An Oral History" because of his involvement in the event as a young man.

The initial airing is scheduled for Friday, August 23, at 9 p.m. CDT
There will be a re-run at midnight the same evening.

In addition, the hour-long documentary can be seen again on Sunday night, August 25, at these times: 7 p.m. CDT, 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.
