General Announcements

Screensaver Lock on College Computers

In order to comply with upcoming audit and other information security requirements, IT has been setting all college-provided computers (faculty and staff) to switch to a screensaver after 15 minutes. To stop the screensaver you will need to enter your Augnet login information.

The reason for this change is to better protect your information: what is on your screen and information you have access to on your computer. Using a locking screensaver minimizes the risk of someone else using your computer to access your files. This only applies to college-provided computers for faculty and staff.

We would like to hear your questions or concerns about this change. Please contact Scott Krajewski, Director of IT Services at krajewsk@augsburg.edu or 612-330-1471.
