This series of conversations is designed to help faculty and staff understand how well we engage students, explore how we can leverage our strengths to have a more significant impact, and examine our most important opportunities for improvement. Over the year, we will look at overall results and then look more closely at each of the five factors measured by NSSE. Every academic department should have a representative attend these sessions.

The remaining sessions are scheduled as follows:

Auggies Win MIAC Men's Soccer Playoff Title

Live webcast of NCAA playoff selections TODAY (Monday) at 1 p.m. -- http://www.ncaa.com/allaccess/index.html?media=203253

MINNEAPOLIS -- Mohamed Sankoh (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) scored two goals, including the game-winning goal with 1:52 left in the first overtime, as Augsburg College rallied from a 2-0 deficit to score a 3-2 win over Concordia College-Moorhead in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer playoff championship game on Friday night at Augsburg's Edor Nelson Field.

With the win, Augsburg's (15-4-1) seventh straight victory, the Auggies clinch an automatic bid to the 60-team NCAA Division III national tournament and will make its second-ever trip to the national playoffs. National tournament bids will be announced on Monday (11/8) at 1 p.m. on a live webcast on NCAA.com.

"I'm exhausted -- but I am as proud as a coach can be of this team and this program," said Augsburg head coach Greg Holker. "A lot of people have put a lot of work in over the course of the last seven years to make this happen. I am grateful so many were there to share it with us tonight."

Concordia (13-6-1) took a 2-0 lead in the 57th minute, with both goals coming from Riley McGlynn (JR, Hampstead, N.C.). McGlynn put the Cobbers on the board with an unassisted goal in the 16th minute, then scored from Marco Riboli (SR, Bergamo, Italy) in the 57th minute.

"We showed some character coming from 2-0 down tonight. Concordia is opportunistic, that's for sure," Holker said. "McGlynn is an incredible talent, and as soon as we made a mistake, the Cobbers got him the ball running at our goal and he knew exactly what to do with it. This is a good Concordia team and they are well-coached. Their set pieces were adjusted to find some of our weaknesses and their tactics were spot on for this kind of game."

But the Auggies rallied back in dramatic fashion in the second half. The Auggies earned a penalty kick in the 71st minute, with Peter Loyd (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) connecting for his third goal of the season.

Nine minutes later, Sankoh scored the first of his two goals, sliding the ball to the net off a feed from Chad Gilmer (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS). Sankoh completed the Auggie comeback 8:08 into the first overtime, scoring on a rebound off a scramble in front of the net, again assisted by Gilmer.

"Our guys had to take chances and get forward, but once we moved Gilmer up top the game changed. He set up both of Mo's goals and caused all sorts of problems for their backs," Holker said. "The effort our guys put forth to battle back shows the character of these kids -- and we were able to use seven players off the bench for a lot of minutes to help us chase the game."

Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 30-18 margin, and had 12 corner kicks to Concordia's six. Will Morlock (FY, Grand Haven, Mich.) had five saves for Augsburg, while Peter Runquist (FY, Woodbury, Minn.) had six saves for the Cobbers.
