Donations Welcome

DONATIONS WELCOME FOR 2010 AUGSBURG ASSOCIATES FALL LUNCHEON SILENT AUCTION

It may seem a bit early, but we all know how time flies. We want to remind you of our Augsburg Associates Fall Luncheon and Silent Auction now so you will have time to consider what quality items you may wish to donate for the auction. Profits from the auction go to student scholarships, so is a worthy cause. We have noticed that some items that go well besides theme baskets are:

Antiques, art pieces, autographed books, children’s books and toys, cds and dvds, candles, vases, silver, handmade items, Norwegian items, sports memorabilia, designer jewelry, designer accessories, designer sweaters or jackets, gift certificates for day spas, theaters, cultural events, hair salons, sporting events and bed and breakfasts.

PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT YOU PLAN TO DONATE BY August 1, 2010, by calling Sharon Ronning, 651-439-5104 (ronningdesign@yahoo.com), Marilyn Gronner, 612-861-3422 (marilyn_cg@comcast.com), or Liz Horton (hortonea@aol.com). All items should be delivered to Augsburg Alumni Relations by September 7th. If you need your item to be picked up this can be arranged -- just let us know when you call with your donation information. The Fall Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13th at the Town & Country Club in St. Paul. We hope you will join us for the luncheon, too!! Thank you for your generosity in the past and in advance for this year!!

How to Document 7/2 as a Paid Day Off:

The following explains how to document the July 2, 2010 on your timesheets or absence report as an additional paid holiday. This applies to all non-union benefits eligible employees, both exempt and non-exempt. This is in addition to the July 5, 2010 scheduled holiday for Independence Day.

To indicate these days off and to be ensured payment for the day, please indicate the number of hours to be paid, prorated for those working less than 1.0 FTE, with the code PH (President’s Holiday) on July 2nd and with the code H (July 4th Holiday) on July 5th. This is to be done on timesheets or absence reports, depending on which the employee is required to complete.

If a supervisor felt it was necessary for an employee to work on July 2nd, please make arrangements with the employee to take another day off the next week and mark it as PH in the same manner noted above.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

Grade Due Dates

Spring Rochester grades are due Friday, 2 Jul.
Spring WEC/Grad grades are due Friday, 9 Jul.
SSI grades are due Monday, 12 Jul.

Grading information can be found through the following link:
http://www.augsburg.edu/registrar/gradeentry.html

Timely grade submission is important to our students. Most of our WEC and Grad students are on company reimbursement and work under time lines for submitting their tuition claim (which requires a grade for the course). Many of our Day students are dependent on scholarships which require graded coursework for continuance or for application for new monies. Thank you for your efforts to support our students.
