Library Closed for Memorial Weekend

Lindell Library will be closed from 5:00 pm, Friday, May 28, until 9:00 am, Tuesday, June 1, in honor of Memorial Weekend.

Hours are always available on the Lindell Library web site: www.augsburg.edu/library

Online library resources are also available 24/7 on that website.

Environmental Education Internship

Looking for a summer internship? Dodge Nature Center is looking for an environmental education intern for the summer and it could be you!

The Dodge Nature Center is a non-profit organization operating a 300 acre nature preserve that provides environmental education and outdoor experiences for thousands of people each year, primarily K-8th grade students.
Environmental education interns would receive training in various natural history topics and teaching techniques useful in presenting those topics to diverse audiences with the opportunity to develop skills through teaching groups.

Responsibilities:
- Presentation of environmental education programs to various audiences
- Preparation of instructional materials for environmental education programs
- Daily care of reptiles and amphibians collection
- Assistance with seasonal projects apiary, orchard, etc.)
- participation in special events
- planning and leading day camp programs

Qualifications:
- Knowledge and interest in natural history and environmental education
- Enthusiasm for working with children in an outdoor setting
- 2+ years of college coursework in environmental education or related field
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Applicant must be available at least 40 hours per week

Benefits:

- Evaluation by professional staff
- Academic credit may be available through a coordinating institution
- Weekly stipend $145/40hr work week

Local Habitat Build with Auggie Alumnus June 7

Rob Wagner '02, a member of the Alumni Board and Young Alumni Council, has extended an invitation to the Augsburg community to participate in "Thrivent Builds" with Habitat for Humanity (www.thriventbuilds.com)

Monday June 7
8a.m.–4 p.m. (with breakfast and lunch provided)
Build site in Brooklyn Park; work will include interior molding, finishing and painting

Sign up for the Fair

August 26th to September 6th are the dates of The Minnesota State Fair and the Augsburg booth needs you!

Again this year, the shifts are 9-1, 1-5 and 5-9 each day and we need two people per shift so that the booth is never unattended. So, link up with a co-worker, a current student or an alum and volunteer at our booth! You'll get an admission ticket to the Fair and a great Auggie polo.
