Auggie Football in Canada on Saturday

http://athletics.augsburg.edu/news/2010/5/25/fb052510.aspx?path=football

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College football team is going to play an exhibition game in Canada this Saturday (5/29) at 12 p.m. against an adult club team in Winnipeg, Manitoba, marking the team's second-ever international trip.

About 40 Augsburg players, along with coaches and support staff, will leave on Thursday for a three-day trip to Winnipeg, where the team will practice and play a game against the East Side Eagles, a local adult club team, on Saturday. The game will feature one half played under American football rules, and one half played under Canadian football rules (12 players, three downs).

The trip is the second-ever international trip for the Augsburg football team. In 1989, the Auggies played two games on a trip to New Zealand and Australia. It is the third international trip for an Augsburg team this month; the Auggie men's and women's soccer teams each took trips to Europe earlier in May.
