GMAT Prep - Register Now for Summer

Thinking about a Master of Business Administration program after graduation? Most MBA programs require the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) for admission. The Augsburg MBA Program is partnering with the Princeton Review to provide GMAT preparation at a discounted rate.

The course will meet Wednesdays 6-9 p.m. for seven weeks (June 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30, and July 7 & 14). The cost is $549, which includes access to the Princeton Review's online student center, the Manual for the GMAT 8.3, and the GMAT Review 12th edition.

To register, contact Princeton Review by calling 612-676-1447, or stop by the MBA office in Oren Gateway suite 115 to pick up a registration form.

Diversity and Global Learning Conference: May 25-26

Student Summer Housing Credit - Due May 12

Students who work 600 hours during the summer (May 2-September 4, 2010) may be eligible for a summer housing credit (campus residences only) of $834.00. Students must reside on campus, not work over 40 hours per week, and be taxed on the credit over a 4-month period.

To apply for the student housing credit, students need to complete paperwork for Human Resources, and must already Summer Housing Contract through Residence Life.

Students can pick up a Summer Housing Credit Agreement in Human Resources or go to the public drive: O/Human Resources/Public/Student Employment/ Summer Housing Credit Agreement 2010. Students and their supervisor need to complete the agreement and sign it. Completed Summer Housing Credit Agreements 2010 are due to Human Resources by Tuesday, May 12, 2010. Student Paychecks - Pick Up in Human Resources

Please come to Human Resources between 8:00am - 4:30pm with your ID to pick up your paycheck.

Spring Semester Grades Due Friday, May 7

Spring Day grades are due Friday, 7 May.

Grading information can be found through the following link:

Timely grade submission is important to our students. Many of our Day students are dependent on scholarships which require graded coursework for continuance or for application for new monies. Thank you for your efforts to support our students.

Rain Garden Workshops During May and June

Metro Blooms began offering low-cost raingarden workshops in 2005. Five years later someone will become the 5000th attendee at a Metro Blooms raingarden workshop. To celebrate this landmark, Metro Blooms has partnered with Ecoscapes Sustainable Landscaping to offer a complete raingarden installation to this 5000th attendee. The
installation, valued at $1000, will include:

• A landscaping consultation
• A detailed raingarden design including technical specifications and
plant selections
• Excavation
• Materials including compost, mulch, and plants

Metro Blooms offers workshops in Hennepin, Carver, Scott, and Martin Counties. Individuals need not be residents of these counties to participate.

NOTE: Registration for any workshop is $10. Workshops are offered in two parts. "Part A" features a presentation on why, where, and how to install a raingarden. "Part B" includes hands-on assistance in designing your raingarden. "Part A" and "Part B" can be taken on separate evenings ($10 each) or in one combined session ($10). Keeping Track of Auggies

Randy Krug Wins TriBeta Award at Winchell

Randy Krug's research Poster A NOVEL METHOD FOR STIMULATING GROWTH IN ALGAL SYSTEMS, advised by Dr. Arlin E. Gyberg, was awarded first prize of the TriBeta John C. Johnson Award. He will receive a plaque and is invited to the Biennial National Convention in Durango, CO. He can receive a travel grant up to $750 to attend. The research was performed with an URGO grant last summer.
