Community as Text - Faculty Development Workshop

"Using the Community as Text "- Faculty Development Workshop

May 4th
9:00am-12:30pm
Century Room-Lower level-Christensen Center

This workshop will include a discussion of ways that faculty have incorporated service-learning, Engaging Minneapolis components, and other kinds of community engagement in courses. The workshop will also explore new ideas for connecting course learning objectives and the Twin Cities.

Facilitators: Garry Hesser (Sociology), Matthew Maruggi (Religion) and Mary Laurel True (Sabo Center).

Lindell Library Graduation Weekend and May Hours

During this graduation weekend, Lindell Library will be open:
Thursday, April 29 -- 8 am - 7 pm
Friday, April 30 -- 8 am - 5 pm
Saturday, May 1 -- 10 am - 6 pm
Sunday, May 2 -- Noon - 6 pm

Summer hours begin May 3:
Monday-Friday -- 9 am - 10 pm
Saturday – 10:00 am - 6 pm / WEC 7:30 am - 6 pm
Sunday -- Noon - 6 pm

Hours are always available on the Lindell Library web site: www.augsburg.edu/library

Online library resources are also available 24/7 on that website.

Congratulations to Ericka Otterson

Please join the StepUP staff in congratulating Ericka Otterson in her new position at PRIDE Institute, a premier treatment center serving the LGBT community nationwide. Ericka will be transitioning to her new position on May 3. She will be deeply missed by all, as her accomplishments and presence on campus over the last three years has been unforgettable.

Tomorrow is her last day in the office. Please stop by the StepUP office to wish her well or attend the StepUP Graduation ceremony tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Sateren Auditorium.

Drummer Needed for Very Cool Church

I sing in one of the three bands at Spirit Garage, "the church with the really big door." We're looking for a drummer who could sit in with us about one Sunday a month (service at 10:30) and weekly rehearsal from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays. This is a volunteer gig and ideal for someone who wants to find a funky, open, awesomely active community to call "home." Sublease for Summer

Looking for a female summer sublease for a house that has three other girls. The room is huge 14 ft by 18 ft plus an adjacent room that is 20 foot by 35 foot. The room is in the basement and has full height ceilings. There is a garage and free washer and dryer in house. I am willing to negotiate on the price. The sublease could start May 22nd and run until Aug 31. If interested in moving in before that time we could work something out. The rent is $450 but we could possibly work something out or a payment plan. The house is located in the COMO neighborhood about 3 blocks from Bierman Athletic Center on 15th ave. Information Technology is accepting applications for the position of Summer Intern.
The IT Intern role at Augsburg goes beyond simply assisting the professional IT staff. Students will be performing technically advanced work and maintaining responsibility that approaches a professional level.

Skills needed:
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Advanced technical expertise to build, administer and support the computing network and telecommunications infrastructure
• Hardware, software and network support expertise.
• Student must have an AugNet account in good standing.

Ideally, the student hired will continue in this position when classes resume in the Fall.
