Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Document Shredding

Something to keep in mind when cleaning out old files...Any documents that are non-confidential can be placed in recycling containers located in hallways of each building. However, many of you have documents that are confidential and need to be shredded.

The Facilities Department has scheduled a document shredding company to be on campus Thursday, November 19. If you have any confidential materials that you wish to be shredded at that time, please box them up and mark the boxes 'to be shredded'. Then, submit a work request to the Facilities Department by Tuesday, November 17, and we will make arrangements for our staff to pick up these boxes from your office.

If you have any questions, please email Terri at adamsth@augsburg.edu or call x1566.

CKP Still needs Thanksgiving Help

Turkeypalooza is the Campus Kitchen Project's Thanksgiving time celebration. At the moment, we re-serve the fine food donated by A'viands which ends up being over 2,000 meals each month. During the week before Thanksgiving, each Campus Kitchen from across the country will serve turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole for each of our normally served meals. We'll be serving more meals for Thanksgiving than ever - 600.

So instead of getting donations through A'viands, we need the help of the entire campus as we always do. Can you lead your office in collecting a particular item during the week of November 9? Cream of mushroom, green beans, potatoes, boxed stuffing, and of course, turkeys?

See this chart to see who's already involved, what's coming, and what we still need: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AljSxIuskFdCdGdTNjc5WUJ0UWNwNWN4ZU1zbjl3elE&hl=en

Also, here are our special volunteer shifts, if you would rather contribute this way (however, we definitely have more need for food at this point):

11/15 Sun 5-9 pm - Begin cooking turkey for Thursday (Multicultural dinner), Serve Secure Waiting - 4 volunteers
11/18 Wed 7-11 pm - Big cooking shift Thursday - 8 volunteers
11/19 Thu 3-6 pm - Prepare and setup Multicultural Dinner at Brian Coyle - 5 volunteers
11/19 Thu 6-8 pm - Serve and clean Multicultural Dinner - 15 volunteers
11/22 Sun 5-8 pm - Cook final turkeys for seniors - 4 volunteers
11/25 Wed 3-6 pm - Deliver senior meals - 4 volunteers, Wed night cooking cancelled
11/26 Thu - All shifts cancelled for Thanksgiving
