MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College setter Shanna Reed (SR, Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Setter/Libero of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Reed was a key factor in the Auggies' two five-set wins over Northwestern-Roseville and Concordia-Moorhead last week. In those two matches, she averaged 11.0 assists per-set and 2.8 digs per-set. Against Northwestern, Reed posted a career-high 60 assists. Against Concordia, she posted her eighth double-double of the season (50 assists/20 digs) as she led the Auggies to a five-set thriller over the No. 18-ranked Cobbers in a key MIAC match-up.

The victory over Concordia broke a nine-match losing streak to the Cobbers and is the first Augsburg win over Concordia since a 3-2 win on Sept. 14, 1999.

Reed has recorded 858 assists (8.85 assists per-set) and 212 digs (2.19 digs per-set) on the season. Over her career she has 3,083 assists, and 161 service aces, which ranks her second and third respectively on the school's all-time career record list.

Augsburg, now 16-10 overall and 5-2 in MIAC play, will host St. Catherine University this Wednesday (10/21) at 7 p.m. at Si Melby Hall in Minneapolis.

http://athletics.augsburg.edu/news/2009/10/20/fb102009.aspx?path=football

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College defensive linemen Alex Glasenapp (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for one of the top defensive performances in the country in NCAA Division III football this week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Glasenapp, who was named MIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, recorded 10 tackles (six solo), including 2.5 sacks, in Augsburg's 27-20 win at Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday. After Augsburg scored in its overtime session, Glasenapp claimed two sacks against Concordia's offense, including a 16-yard sack on fourth-down-and-10 from the Augsburg 11 on the final play of the game.

On the season, Glasenapp leads Augsburg's defensive linemen, while ranking fourth overall among Auggie defenders, with 38 tackles, including six tackles for loss and a team-high three sacks.

The win over Concordia was Augsburg's first at Concordia's Jake Christiansen Stadium in Moorhead since a 13-3 win on Sept. 17, 1994. Augsburg also broke a nine-game losing streak to the Cobbers with the victory, Augsburg's fifth overtime victory in its nine extra-session games since the NCAA introduced overtime in college football in 1996.

The Team of the Week award is given by D3football.com, a national website that covers NCAA Division III football.

Augsburg, now 3-3 overall and 2-2 in MIAC play, will host Gustavus Adolphus College this Saturday (10/24) at 1 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field in Minneapolis.
