Department of Residence Life Announcement

Department of Residence Life: Announcement

Following the departure of Kelly Collins Strang, 2008-2009 Luther Residence Hall Director, to pursue her Master's degree at the University of Iowa, the Department of Residence Life was provided the opportunity to reflect upon mission, purpose, and structure.

We are proud to present a new configuration of the professional staff team reflective of our departmental mission and purpose with emphasis on the greater College vision and promise.

Our Department of Residence Life professional team:
Amanda Erdman, Director of Residence Life
Cyndy Rowe, Housing Specialist
Michael Perry, Urness Hall Community, Residence Hall Director
Amanda Temple, Mortensen Hall Community, Residence Hall Director
Brian Emerick, Anderson Hall Community, Residence Hall Director
Phillip Hernandez, Luther Hall and Oren Gateway Community, Residence Hall Director

We look forward to continuing our work developing residents who are both students and neighbors in an urban collegiate setting while being grounded in liberal arts, intentional diversity, and faith. As a student centered residential community-- we are, we foster, and we strive to be:
*RESPONSIBLE through activism, leadership, awareness, acceptance, and developing freedom with accountability through self-governance and community standards.
*RESOURCEFUL by appreciating and utilizing our urban setting, being holistic, and open to cultivating our experience into knowledge.
*RESPECTFUL by being inclusive, celebratory, self-aware, promoting social justice, and by honoring the dignity of others.
Purposeful learning and growth surrounding these principles occurs in our individual residents, our hall communities, and our residential environment at large through: observing, cultivating, identifying, and sharing.
