Weight Watchers Open House July 22

Join the Augsburg Weight Watchers at Work group for an open house on Tuesday, July 22 from 2:30 - 3 p.m. in Lindell 301. The Weight Watchers group will begin a new 7-week summer "shorts" series on Tuesday, July 29. The series will run through Sept. 16 (no meeting on Sept. 2).

This is a great way to give Weight Watchers a try without committing to an entire 17-week session.

Bring your wallet if you plan to join - the cost of the session is $87, which can be paid by cash, check or credit.

We need at least 5 more members to keep Weight Watchers at Augsburg! Help keep the group going.

Questions? Contact Cherie Christ at 612-330-1476 or christc@augsburg.edu.

8th Annual Music for Social Change Event

Music For Social Change is a day of singing, songwriting, and fun. For eight years, Advocating Change Together has hosted this musical event, bringing together self-advocates, consumers, and allies to sing songs from civil rights movements and create new songs to capture the spirit of the disability rights movement.

The purpose of this workshop is to expand the use of music in our work, promote disability as a civil rights struggle, and celebrate our ability to create a more just society.

Musicians Larry Dittberner, Sherry Minnick, Maria Brown, and Vern Bloom have experience singing with groups and including everyone in the singing and activities.

The workshop is free. Lunch is provided.

Saturday, July 26, 2008
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (9:30 a.m. Refreshments and Registration)

Art Appreciation 101 this Friday

Wonder what's going on in the Christensen Art Gallery and Gage Family Art Gallery? Meet the local artists who are transforming these spaces this coming Friday, July 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Mayumi Amada and Eric Carroll are recent MFA graduates from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Mayumi's work in "MISC" in the Gage Gallery highlights her variety of working materials and methods--which include recycled plastic bottles, light, candy boxes, and metal garments.

Eric's installation "Student Art Show" in the Christensen Center Art Gallery is a contemporary exploration of one of the earliest photographic methods.

Wanted - Target Rx Color Rings

I am working on an art project using the color coding rings (Clear Rx) around the mouth of Target prescription bottles. If you use Target pharmacy, will you please take the ring off the bottle before recycling it and send it to my campus box - #76? This is an ongoing project and I will be collecting the rings for some time, so keep them coming! Thank you in advance.
