Two Exciting Projects Happening over the Summer
Christensen Center Dining Service Renovation
On Thursday, June 19 construction will begin on the renovation of the Christensen Center Dining Services Servery area to accommodate the change recently made in food service provider to A'viands.
This work includes new cabinetry, servery equipment, ceiling and wall refurbishment, and a new servery entry.
This work is scheduled for completion Friday, August 15.
Thank you in advance for putting up with the extra noise and construction activity during this project.
A New Pressbox for the Edor Nelson Athletic Field
On Tuesday, July 1 construction will begin on the construction of a new pressbox to be located in between Kennedy Center and the Ice Area overlooking the Edor Nelson Athletic Field.
Funding for this project was made possible through the generosity of Augsburg alumni and long-time supporters of the College's athletic program.
This work is scheduled for completion Friday, August 29.
Security Notice - Stabbing Near Campus
Early this morning, a man was stabbed approximately one block west of campus. The following is the media statement released by the Minneapolis Police Department:
"June 18, 2008 (MINNEAPOLIS) Shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning, officers from both the First Precinct and the University of Minnesota responded to a stabbing near the intersection of 19th Ave S and 7th Ave S. When officers arrived they found a male victim unconscious in the street. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died a short time later. The name and age of the victim is not yet available.
There are no suspects in custody at this time and investigators with the Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit are following leads. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department tip line at 612-692-tips (8477)."

- If you have called for an escort, wait inside a building or your car for the DPS officer to arrive.
- Immediately report suspicious persons or activity to the Minneapolis Police (911) or Augsburg DPS. You can reach Augsburg DPS all day, every day at x1717 (612-330-1717 from an off-campus phone.)
