Agresso Systems Offline

Information Technology will be performing an Agresso software upgrade, at which time the Agresso software and the Records and Registration website will be offline from Thursday, June 5 at 10 p.m. until Monday, June 9 at 8 a.m.

This upgrade will result in a few changes to the appearance of the Agresso screens, both for those users who access Agresso directly through the client application, as well as for users who use the web interface. Please note that these screen changes will not affect the appearance of the student web. You can use these links to follow video demonstrations of the screen changes:

Staff Picnic---Lawn Games Needed

As part of the annual staff picnic, we would like to have a variety of lawn games and fun activities available to play during the event. However, rather than purchasing a bunch of new games, we would like staff and/or faculty to donate games just for the day.

We are looking for:
**Bean Bag Toss Games
**Badminton Set (and racquets, etc.)
**Lawn Volleyball Set
**Horseshoe Set
**Bochee Ball
**Washer Games
**Ladder Golf

But, let me know if there are others that you could contribute.

If you have a game or two that you would be willing to share, please contact Jodi Collen at collen@augsburg.edu or at x1107.

Thank you!

Jodi Collen

Faculty Help Needed During MPCW

Minnesota Private Week is coming up June 23-27! We expect many prospective students to be visiting campus during this time and we could use some help. Traditionally our Admissions Office hosts 2 progressive tours each day of MPCW (one in the morning & then one in the afternoon), where 4 groups of students and their families tour the college, stopping along the way to learn about the things that make Augsburg unique.

I'm looking for interested faculty to help out during the Augsburg Experience/Academics portion of the tour. Essentially you'd have 15 minutes with each of the 4 groups to talk about your major, the curriculum, and how you feel the core comes to life based upon the educational experience you see your students receiving. You can go in any direction that you may want with this - discussion, slide show, etc.

This is a great opportunity to meet prospective students and have an open forum to talk about your major. Please consider signing up for 1 or more of the following sessions: (Each 1 1/2 hour long session would include four 15 minute presentations with 10 minute breaks in between each presentation)

Monday, June 23 9:55-11:25 a.m. or 2:25-3:55 p.m.
Tuesday, June 24 9:55-11:25 a.m. or 2:25-3:55 p.m.
Wednesday, June 25 9:55-11:25 a.m. or 2:25-3:55 p.m.
Thursday, June 26 9:55-11:25 a.m. or 2:25-3:55 p.m.
Friday, June 27 9:55-11:25 a.m. or 2:25-3:55 p.m.

Please let me know by Wednesday, June 11 if you would be able to help and which days/times will work for you (i.e. Monday morning session, Thursday afternoon session, etc) We would appreciate any coverage you could provide. Please let me know if you have any questions ( bertok@augsburg.edu , x1577)

Piano Purchase Opportunity -- Great Deals

Augsburg has had the great benefit of using new Yamaha pianos through the educational loan program created by the Yamaha Corporation of America and implemented locally by Music Connection. This program involves a periodic renewal of the pianos, and now these fine instruments are available for purchase by our associates and the public.

All pianos used in this program will be on sale to faculty, alumni, students, and friends of Augsburg at prices significantly lower than market value. In addition to these, a wide selection of new Yamaha Acoustic, Digital, and Yamaha Disklavier Pianos will also be available. All of the loan program pianos and new pianos are covered by the Yamaha 10 Year Factory Warranty Bond. You will also have an opportunity to examine fine quality, previously owned instruments from Yamaha, and others. Attractive financing and delivery are available on all instruments. Cash, checks and all major credit cards will also be accepted.

There are two ways to view and purchase the selected pianos at Music Connection’s Piano Showroom, 3525 W. 70th St., Edina, in the Brandon Square Center. You may attend the public sale on Sunday June 8th , or to better assist you (and help avoid the crowds), a private appointment can be arranged for Friday June 6 or Saturday June 7 by calling the toll-free appointment number 1-866-920-5397. This is highly recommended for best selection and value. The hours are as follows:

Friday, June 6, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. By Appointment
Saturday, June 7, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. By Appointment
Sunday, June 8, Noon - 5 p.m. Open to the Public

This special program offers a significant benefit for Augsburg College and you. We ask you to view and consider the purchase of one of these fine pianos, which will assist in perpetuating this program.

Pedalers for Peace Founders Fide Again

This fall, three 2007 Auggie grads and founders of the Augsburg College Pedalers for Peace will be taking to the road again. Only this time, they're riding from Bemidji to New Orleans!

They're hoping to make a multimedia travelogue out of their journey, and they're looking for supplies (biking and otherwise) to help them accomplish their goal. Here's a message from Alisa Hoven (she'll be biking with Sarah Pesola and Betsy Popelka):

Three Augsburg grads are biking down the Mississippi River once again, this time heading from headwaters to gulf! The team will depart at the end of the summer and are looking for some gear. If you are able to lend out any of the gear listed below for the fall months, or know someone who can, please contact Alisa Hoven, alisa.hoven@gmail.com.

Here is a list of items they still need:

compressible water jugs, cooking utensils & cooking kit, small tents, tarp,
pannier bags, bicycle tire tubes, wheels, air pumps, first aid kit, and
various art supplies for their chronicle.

Thanks so much!
