A Message from Marketing Communication

Hello from the office of Marketing and Communication.

It is a very busy time here! Actually, we are almost always very busy. At any given time, we are working on between 75 and 90 projects, which makes our office an exciting place to work. In the coming weeks, we will personally invite members of the campus community to see our space and talk with us about how we can best serve you. Watch for an invitation!

In the meantime, please help us help you by giving us a minimum of 6 weeks to complete your projects, even those that may seem “quick” or “simple.” To find out more about how we work, and to access our project request forms, visit our webpage at http://www.augsburg.edu/marcomm/

Thanks! We'll see you soon.

ELCA Camp Fair, Feb. 21, 4 - 6 p.m.

What are you doing this summer?

Do you want a job that entails long days (you sleep in the cabin, yo), in harsh conditions (it will probably storm at least one day), with demanding customers (kids have very high standards)?

Or do you want to work in a factory?

Consider working at a camp this summer. Every summer, hundreds of camps across the country work with children and youth. Next Thursday, Feb. 21, will be the ELCA Camp Fair. Over 20 camps will be on campus in the East Commons, recruiting you to work in the great outdoors with Children of God.

Can’t afford it? Pish-posh!

The Lilly Grant is giving away 18 stipends worth $500 to Augsburg College students who work at a summer camp. Visit Ross Murray at the camp fair for an application, or e-mail him at murray@augsburg.edu.

Augsburg to Remember Lois Johnson '68 this Weekend

Augsburg to remember alum Lois Hallock Johnson '68 during events this weekend
http://www.augsburg.edu/athletics/sportsnews/021108johnson.html

MINNEAPOLIS (2/11/08) -- Augsburg College will honor the memory of alumnus Lois Hallock Johnson '68 this weekend, donating the ticket proceeds from its five home athletic events to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and a fund for Augsburg women's athletics.

Johnson, wife of Augsburg men's hockey assistant coach (and former boys' hockey coach at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School) Bruce Johnson '68, died on Nov. 26, 2007 after a battle with breast cancer. A teacher, coach and counselor, she worked in the Osseo (Minn.) School District for 36 years, and was a strong supporter of her alma mater. Their three children -- Leah, Thomas and Aaron -- all attended Augsburg.

Ticket proceeds from this weekend's five home athletic events -- Friday's wrestling meet against Wisconsin-Stevens Point (7 p.m.) and men's hockey game against Hamline (7:05 p.m.), and Saturday's men's (1 p.m.) and women's (3 p.m.) basketball games against Concordia-Moorhead and women's hockey game against Hamline (7:05 p.m.) -- will be donated on a 50-50 basis to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and an Augsburg women's athletics fund.

At all the events, pink wristbands will be available for people to wear in honor of Johnson and recognizing the fight against breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink shirts to this weekend's events.

For more information, contact the Augsburg athletic department at 612-330-1249.
