http://www.augsburg.edu/athletics/sportsnews/072007volleyball.html

MINNEAPOLIS (7/20/07) -- The Augsburg College volleyball team was one of 53 NCAA Division III women's volleyball squads to earn the GamePlan/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 school year, it was announced on Thursday.

To receive the award, teams must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average (4.0 scale) during the school year. Schools that achieve that honor receive a plaque, and each player will receive a recognition certificate.

A total of 303 schools, from the high school level to NCAA Division I, received the GamePlan/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 school year. Among collegiate women's teams, 55 NCAA Division I schools received the award, while 30 Division II, 53 Division III and 16 NAIA schools were honored.

The Augsburg volleyball team, coached by Jessica Rinehart, finished 11-17 overall in 2006, the most wins for an Augsburg squad since 2001 (12-18). Augsburg finished 2-9 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

A total of six MIAC schools earned the GamePlan/AVCA Team Academic Award -- Augsburg, Bethel, Gustavus Adolphus, Macalester, St. Benedict and St. Catherine.
