Subject: Bookstore Closed July 26 & 27

Message: To transtition to the Oren Gateway Center the bookstore will have to shut down most of our operations on July 26 & 27. We will be available from 11-1 in the Christensen Center (our current location) on Thursday July 26. We will not be able to process credit cards or department charges. All buyback functions will be down as well. We will reopen Monday July 30 at 9:30 a.m.

Message: Parking season is here! Please visit our website at www.augsburg.edu/dps/permitreg.html for detailed information about 2007-08 parking permit sales.

Sales for all permits begins within the first two weeks of August. All registration must be completed online. Check the website above to find the specific time(s) you will be able to register online. Ticketing for all campus lots will begin the first day of class- September 5.

Message: The Center for Global Education at Augsburg College is sponsoring a day-long conference on Saturday, July 21 on the theme of “Building a Just and Sustainable World: Educating for Transformation.” The keynote speech will be given by Dr. Pandu Hailonga van Dijk from Windoek, Namibia on “Education for Decolonization.” She is the former site director for the Center for Global Education’s program in Namibia and currently an assistant representative for the United Nation’s Population Fund.

Cost for the conference is $25 including lunch and a continental breakfast. The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2730 East 31st Street, Minneapolis. To register call 612-330-1159 or visit www.centerforglobaleducation.org.

Message: The Center for Global Education at Augsburg College is hosting a 25th anniversary celebration event on Saturday, July 21, 7-11 p.m. at the Arnold Atrium, Foss Center, Augsburg College, 2211 Riverside Avenue, Minneapolis. The event will feature food from around the world, tasting of fair trade wines and socially conscious beer , a silent auction of unique items, and dancing to world music. A short program will honor the founders of the Center for Global Education and others who have been important in its history. Cost for the dinner is $40.
