Subject: Auggie Cheer Team Community Day Fundraiser
Submitter:
Megan L Schiller, Student

Message: It's the time of year for Herberger's Community Day Sale. The Augsburg Cheer Team is selling Community Day coupon booklets for a fundraiser. It's the same great deal this season: for each $5 donation you make to our cheer team, you will receive a $10 off coupon and eight 20% off coupons. It's going to be a big sale; there is even a bonus buy of $30 off entire stock of men's and women's Clarks shoes for that day. In addition, these coupons can be used at any Herberger’s, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Prairie Scott, Elder-Beerman, and Yonker’s stores.

Community Day is on Saturday, March 3rd, and we will be selling them from now until that day. Remember, if you happen to be gone that day, you can shop the week before, put your items on hold with your coupon booklet, and the stores will do a presale the morning of the sale. Then, you can then pick up your items anytime. These coupons are also a great gift to give for any shoppers in your life! Please let me know how many you or any of your family members or friends would like. Then, we can arrange when I can stop by to give you your coupons and pick up your donation. Thanks for your continuous support for our team.

If you would like to donate to our fundraiser and receive coupon booklets please contact Cheer Captain Megan Schiller at schillem@augsburg.edu

Submitter:
Timothy Dougherty, Community and Civic Engagement Student Coordinator, Center for Service Work and Learning

Message: You're invited to the first incarnation of REAL TALK this Wednesday, February 28th, from 12-1 pm in the Cedar and Riverside Rooms.

What is REAL TALK, you ask (did I mention there's FREE PIZZA and PIE!)?

REAL TALK is intended to create a safe environment to discuss real-world issues in a round table format, with the hopes of empowering participants to engage multiple perspectives and extend action beyond campus into the community (and, of course, to fill your belly with FREE PIZZA and PIE).

In honor of our upcoming convocation speaker, Jorge Bustamante, our first ever REAL TALK round table will focus on Immigration and the variety of perspectives with which we can view this pressing societal issue.

Come one, come all and ESPECIALLY students! Come flex your burgeoning civic engagement muscles...

Bring: Your voice, your perspective, your listening skills, your thirst for knowledge, your friends (and your taste buds).

Please forget: Your temper, your fear, and your closed mind.

Brush up on the issues. Look for our posters on campus over the next few days and grab an info sheet that will introduce you to some prevailing views on immigration. It will also have some websites for further exploration...

See you Wed. February 28th for some pizza, pie, and REAL TALK with real people!

We pledge to take impeccably good care of these loaned items, and will return them to you upon our arrival back in Minneapolis. Please help us to put the finishing touches on our trip!!

Please contact Tim Dougherty at x1208 or doughert@augsburg.edu if you would like more information or have equipment you're willing to lend us!
