THEATRE:

“Shattered”

Few prospects are more frightening than the gradual erosion of self and memory that accompanies Alzheimer's Disease. This Theatre Unbound world-premiere of Canadian writer Lindsay Price's Shattered tackles the subject with a seven-woman cast, each actress portraying the same character during a different period of her life. As she ages, the woman clings harder to whichever memories she can before her mind is no longer her own. Price won a playwriting contest sponsored by Theatre Unbound despite the fact that her subject matter was outside the competition's ostensible guidelines. The company's artistic core simply liked Shattered too much to pass up an opportunity to stage it.

When: Thursday, Oct. 26-Sunday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.; also Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Where: The Playwrights’ Center
2301 E. Franklin Ave, Mpls; 612,332.7481
