Message: Attention members of the Augsburg Community,

We are notifying the campus that the current Urness and Mortensen bicycle racks are scheduled for removal. We are expecting delivery of new replacement racks on Tuesday August 29.

We are asking all faculty, staff, and students who are currently using the racks to remove their bicycles from the racks no later then Monday August 28 at 9 a.m.. Any bicycles left on the racks will be impounded.

On Sunday, September 3 between 3:30-5 p.m. in the Quad there will be an Auggie Involvement EXPO in which all student organizations/clubs are encouraged to be a part of.

During this time frame the entire first-year class will be required to attend an EXPO at which student organizations/clubs may have a table and give out information, have sign-ups, advertise events and much more.

In order to get your student organization/club involved, you must contact and fill out a form from the Office of Campus Activities and Orientation by Monday, August 28 at 3 p.m..

Message: Senior art major Aaron Smith has installed a series of landscape paintings in the Student Art Gallery in Christensen Center. Come see "Ends of the Road" through Friday, August 25.

Look for changing student art exhibitions every two weeks throughout this new school year.

Message: We need YOUR Augsburg story!

The annual fund is looking for your inspiring student Augsburg story to share with our donors. As such, we are conducting a writing contest to solicit your Augsburg story. This writing competition will offer one first-place prize, and ten runner-up selections. Here are the guidelines:

? Maximum of 500 words telling us about your Augsburg story. What drew you to Augsburg in the first place? Why did you choose to attend Augsburg? How has Augsburg had an impact on your life?
? The writer of the story chosen must be willing to work with our editorial guidance in creating an appeal for our audience.
? The ?first-place? story chosen will receive a $50 gift card to Target, and will be the signator of our Fall 2006 annual fund appeal.
? Runner-up stories will receive a $10 gift card to Target, and will be used for monthly communications to our donors.
? A picture of the writer and their signature will accompany the story.
? Deadline to submit your work: Please email your story to Melissa Bawek at bawek@augsburg.edu by Noon on Friday, August 25.
? Open to current, enrolled Augsburg students only.
? Winners will be announced by September 5.

Message: The Augsburg A-Club cordially invites all students, faculty, and staff to join us in the 3rd Annual A-Club 5K Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, September 24. This 3.1 semi-challenging down and back course, will take you through the Augsburg campus crossing Riverside Avenue taking you down and back along West River Road and the Mississippi River. All entrants who pre-register will receive a shirt for participating in this family friendly run/walk! You still have time to train so put some pep into the ol' step and join us on the 24th!
