Subject: Lindell Library closed August 12-20th

Message: Lindell Library, including the Student Computing Lab, is closed from Saturday, August 12 through Sunday, August 20. However, the Urness computer lab will be open, and Student Computing will be checking e-mail and voicemail.

From August 21 to September 4, Lindell Library will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Message: You are cordially invited to attend the end of the summer open house celebration
for the Girls in Engineering, Mathematics and Science (GEMS) & Guys in
Mathematics and Science (GISE) summer programs at Augsburg College. These
collaborative programs with the Minneapolis Public Schools has brought 140,
4-12th grade Minneapolis girls and 35 4-5th grade Minneapolis boys to campus to
learn about and create a number of exciting science, math and technology
projects. You can see the culmination of their hard work on the following days.

GISE Festival, Wednesday, August 16
9:30 a.m. - A Day at the Races, Science Hall
10:30 a.m. - Lacrosse, Athletic Field
11:45 a.m. - Robotics Challenge, Science Hall
12:45 p.m. Lunch at Augsburg

Message: Facilities, ResLife and Student Computing have teamed up to improve the look and feel of the Urness 24-hour computer lab and First Year Study Lounge (FYSL). Improvements include a new lab layout, new computers, fresh paint and ceiling tiles, and new furniture for the FYSL. Be sure to stop by and take a look when you have a minute!

As a result of the changes, the oversized purple lounge chairs (and the lone orange office chair) in the hallway between the dispatch booth and the FYSL are no longer needed/wanted. If you are interested in obtaining any/all of these pieces of furniture, please contact Matt Linngren (x1790) to claim them.
