Submitter:
Joseph B. Underhill-Cady, Associate Professor, Political Science

Message: Two Summer I courses--World Politics (POL 160) and Environmental & River Politics (POL 241)--offer students the opportunity to explore what it means to be a global citizen.

POL 160 will engage the debates on the war in Iraq, the rise of China, global warming, fair trade, and immigration & border security.

POL 241 includes site visits by bike, bus, and boat to the Mississippi River gorge, Midtown Greenway, and St. Paul riverfront.

In both classes, students each undertake an action-research project in which they can take the learning and ideas from class and put them to work in the world. Students are encouraged to register by May 25 to ensure a spot in either class.

Message: MINNEAPOLIS (5/12/06) -- The 2006 Augsburg College baseball season is not over yet.

Augsburg will play a single, nine-inning game against the Division I University of Minnesota Golden Gophers tonight (Tuesday 5/16) at 6:30 p.m. at Siebert Field on the Minnesota campus. It is the first time Division III Augsburg has faced their crosstown bretheren since 1989.

If you can't make it to the game, you can listen live online on Augsburg's athletic website through the following link: http://www.augsburg.edu/athletics/liveaudio

The game has been added after Minnesota was unable to reschedule a contest with Augsburg's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival, St. Thomas, after the game was postponed due to weather twice.

Augsburg will enter the game with an 18-19-1 record, having completed its MIAC season at 8-12. Minnesota is 26-24 after last weekend's four-game Big Ten series at Ohio State. Minnesota is currently 13-14 in Big Ten play, and will complete its regular season after the Augsburg game with a four-game series against Indiana this weekend (5/19-21) at the Metrodome.
