Subject: zyzzogeton: Faculty Research Roundtables

Submitter:
Phillip C. Adamo, Assistant Professor, History

Message: This Wednesday, April 19, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., in the Marshall Room, faculty from the arts, humanities, mathematics, and sciences will present roundtable discussions on their current research. The roundtable format offers audience members the chance to participate in an exchange of ideas that is less formal and more intimate-8 people per table-with colleagues who are expert in their fields.

Participating faculty scholars include Kristin Anderson (Art History), Tracy Bibelnieks (Mathematics), Mark Engebretson (Physics), Douglas E. Green (English), Chris Kimball (History), Sandra Olmsted (Chemistry), Beverly Smith-Keiling (Biology), Nancy Steblay (Psychology), Mark Strefeler (Biology), and Robert K. Tom (Art).

Delicious food and beverages will also be served. All are welcome.

Subject: zyzzogeton: Lefse vs. Lutefisk

Submitter:
Phillip C. Adamo, Assistant Professor, History

Message: Thursday, April 20, 4 to 5 p.m., Marshall Room

Luther vs. Eck? Lincoln vs. Douglas? These disputations had nothing over the great debate that will happen this Thursday! Come hear the virtues of lefse expounded over the subtleties of lutefisk. The best of Norwegian cuisine will be argued and defended from the viewpoints of four academic disciplines: William V. Frame (Political Science), Lori Hale (Religion), Joan Griffin (English), and Ken Kaminsky (Mathematics).

Communication prof and debate coach Bob Groven will moderate. The kind Norwegian ladies of the Augsburg Associates will act as judges.

Delicious food and beverages will also be served. (Whether or not that includes lutefisk, you'll have to come to find out.) All are welcome.
