Submitter:
Dixie Shafer, Director, Office for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity

All workshops are held in Sverdrup 205.
Monday, April 10 from Noon to 1:00
Tuesday, April 11 from 3:00 to 4:00
Wednesday, April 12 from 2:30 to 3:30.

Students and Faculty are welcome. Questions contact shafer@augsburg.edu.

Subject: Friday Seminar: Writing Feminist Fiction TODAY

Submitter:
Theresa L Martin, Administrative Assistant, Center for Teaching and Learning

Message:
An Aspiring Author's Story with Wendi Wheeleer

What is feminist fiction? What does it mean? How does one write it? Drawing on her experiences as a women's studies major and a wannabe English major, Wendi Wheeler will talk about what writing feminist fiction means to her. She will
share some of her work-in-progress, a collection of short stories about the choices women make when facing an unplanned pregnancy.

Wendi's work has been published in obscure places like the Twin Cities' Real Estate Journal and the Augsburg Echo. Her poetry received a 2005 Engman Award, and a poem will be published in the 2006 edition of Murphy Square, Augsburg's
literary and art magazine.

Lindell Library 301
Refreshments are served at 3:30; the presentation begins at 4:00.

Subject: Financial Aid Awards--New Process for 2006-07!

Submitter:
Shana Erickson, Assistant Director, Student Financial Services, Enrollment Center

Message: The Enrollment Center is pleased to introduce a new way for you to see your financial aid award letter for the 2006-07 school year. You will receive notice of your award as follows:

1. After we have received all of your application materials (which are due April 15th, 2006) and you have been awarded, you will receive an email on your Augsburg account that will direct you to the Enrollment Center's website.

2. On that site, you will be asked to log-in using your AugNet username and password.

3. After successful log-in, you will have the ability to see your financial aid award information, specifically broken down by term. You will also have the ability to view both documents we have received, and those that our office still needs you to submit. In addition, we will provide directions and links to apply for loans, and you will also be able to see messages specific to your award. As the year progresses, we expect to add the ability to track your loan status through this on-line database.

We are confident you will find this process user friendly and much better than the paper process of past years. You will have quicker access to your award information, and it is more secure since nothing is sent through the mail. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR AUGSBURG E-MAIL ACCOUNT OFTEN, EVEN THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER. If you have any questions about this new process, please don't hesitant to contact the Enrollment Center: (612) 330-1046 or enroll@augsburg.edu.
