Subject: Parking Affected By Melby Construction

Submitter:
Krista Young, Communications and Parking Manager, Public Safety

Message: Beginning Thursday, April 6, Si Melby will be under contstruction. The main walkway that runs next to Melby between the new parking lot L and 23rd Ave will be closed until the construction is finished.

There are two alternate routes available from lot L to the main part of campus. The most convenient route is through the N parking lot L gate onto the sidewalk along Riverside Ave. The other option is through the S parking lot L gate to the sidewalk along Butler Place.

Please keep in mind that Public Safety also offers campus escorts all day every day. You may request an escort by calling x1717 or 612-330-1717.

Available parking spaces should be minimally affected by the construction.

For questions, please contact Communications and Parking Manager Krista Young at 612-330-1711 or youngk@augsburg.edu.

Message: The Learning As You Go Workshop scheduled for today, Thursday, April 6 is cancelled.

Subject: Does the library still buy books?

Submitter:
Susan A Certain, Acquisitions Coordinator, Library

Message:
The answer to that question is a resounding YES! As Lindell Library strives to provide support for a wide array of curriculum needs, we are ordering as many books as ever (plus we order nonprint formats such as DVD, VHS, CD, and E-Book).

Increasingly, orders are placed electronically. One of the most useful benefits of the internet is that out-of-print books and dealers are included. Through the internet we have the ability, when an old classic needs to be replaced, to find a source, verify availability and condition, and aquire it quickly. In fact, we could not function very well without the internet; it has become an integral part of acquiring and providing access to all forms of information for YOU, the information seeker.
