Subject: Rollout of the Revised GRE Postponed One Year

Message: GRE folks just announced that they are delaying the start of the Revised GRE until October 1, 2007, one year later than originally planned.

Students planning on starting graduate school in October of 2007 will have to take the current exam as presently administered.

A reminder that GRE prep starts tomorrow night, Wednesday, February 15 in Science 123.

Subject: Pulitzer Prize nominated historian to speak Feb 16

Message: Gary Clayton Anderson, Professor of History at the University of Oklahoma, will be giving a public lecture in the Marshall Room on Thursday, Feb 16, at 7 p.m. Professor Anderson will speak on "Ethnic Cleansing and the American Indian: Can a Case Be Made for Texas and Minnesota?" His latest book, "THE CONQUEST OF TEXAS: ETHNIC CLEANSING IN THE PROMISED LAND" (University of Oklahoma Press, 2005), has been nominated for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize in History.

Professor Anderson's lecture is sponsored by American Indian Studies, American Indian Student Services, and the Department of History. It is free and open to the public.

Message: Join the Augsburg History Society in welcoming Larry Millett, Twin Cities architectural historian and author of LOST TWIN CITIES, as he shares his latest research in the inaugural Carl H. Chrislock Memorial History Lecture at 7 p.m., Thursday, February 23, in the Marshall Room. A short reception will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public.

The Carl H. Chrislock Memorial History Lecture honors the memory of Carl H. Chrislock, former professor of history at Augsburg College. C. Winston Chrislock, professor of history at the University of St. Thomas, will open the program by briefly commenting on his fatherâs legacy.

Message: Lockers have been installed in the Auggie Nest (formerly Cooper's Attic in the basement of Christensen). These lockers are for those students who do not live on campus and need a place to store their belongings throughout the course of a day.

The lockers are quarter operated but at the end of the day when you pick up your things, your quarter is returned to you. If you have any questions feel free to stop by the Auggie Nest and talk to Shannon Rynders or Marc Skjervem.

Message: The director and the producer of the documentary "Michael Moore Hates America" will be joining artists Barbara Claussen and Terry Gydesen and Augsburg professor Bob Cowgill to discuss the messy intersections of Art, Media, and Politics on Wednesday, February 15. The round table will take place in Lindell 15 (lower level) beginning at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments will follow outside the Gage Gallery. All are invited to hear some heated debate!

Not sure who you're going to live with next year? Perhaps your roommates for 2006-2007 are coming from another country! If you're interested in becoming an international host, please pick up an application available in both residence life offices and near the entry of each residence hall.

What is an international host? International hosts are Augsburg students, living in Mortensen Hall, who agree to live with international students and provide a welcoming environment. Being an international host is a great way to learn about other cultures and countries around the world without ever leaving the comforts of Augsburg.

Subject: Aaron Griess on WCCO Radio tonight

Message: Augsburg men's basketball coach Aaron Griess will be a guest in studio on WCCO Radio's (AM 830) Dark Star show tonight (Tuesday 2/14) between 9:30 and 10 p.m.

Griess, in his first season at Augsburg, came to Minnesota after spending the past nine seasons at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii, including the last five seasons as head coach there.

Augsburg's men's basketball team has its final home game of the season on Wednesday (2/15) at 7:30 p.m., hosting St. John's at Si Melby Hall.
