Subject: DAY STUDENT SPRING PARKING REGISTRATION

Submitter:
Krista Young, Communications and Parking Manager, Public Safety

Message: DAY STUDENT PARKING
SPRING SEMESTER ?05 ? ?06

PERMIT PRICES:
Resident and Commuter permits will be $110 for Spring semester, with full amount due at registration.

New Hall Underground permits will be $360 for Spring semester, with full amount due at registration.

Minneapolis City Street permits will be $25 for one academic year, with full amount due at the time permit is picked up from the City of Minneapolis.

ONLINE PARKING REGISTRATION:
This year our parking system is online. Every student, faculty, and staff member at the college must use the online system. All students interested in a Spring semester permit may register online beginning Monday, December 12th. If you do not register online before the time permits are sold, you are not eligible for a permit. However, completing the registration does not guarantee you a permit at this time; permits will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

TO PAY FOR AND PICK UP YOUR PERMIT:
To pick up a permit, you must have completed the online registration in advance. On Thursday, January 19th, please come to the Enrollment Center in Sverdrup Hall to pick up a permit between the hours of 8:30am ? 5pm. If there are any permits left, they will be sold Friday, January 20th from 8:30am-4:30pm. To get a permit, you must bring a form of payment (check, cash, or credit card), a photo ID, and proof of ownership of your vehicle. The only forms of proof of ownership we will accept are license tab renewal forms or vehicle registration. Please call x1717 if you need additional directions to the Enrollment Center.

MINNEAPOLIS CITY STREET PERMITS:
City street permits are the only permits students may purchase without using the online system. Only Augsburg College resident students will be eligible for Minneapolis City street permits.

To obtain a City street permit, please to the Enrollment Center in Sverdrup on Thursday, January 19th between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm to pick up a letter of residency that will make you eligible for a Minneapolis City street permit. If there are any permits left, letters of residency will also be given out Friday, January 20th from 8:30am-4:30pm. The letter of residency will allow you to purchase a permit from the City of Minneapolis. Available letters of residency will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. You will need to bring a photo ID when you come to pick up your letter. Please call x1717 if you need additional directions to the Enrollment Center. Please remember you can only purchase an Augsburg permit OR a City permit ? not both.

USING THE ONLINE SYSTEM:
Open your web browser and go to: augsburg.parkadmin.com . Do NOT type in www or http or the site will not open.

?On this page, click on the ?Create New Account? button, then fill out the registration information and follow the prompts on each page.

?One of the steps during registration will be retrieving a password from the e-mail account you provide during registration, then using that password to log back in to the parking system.

?Once you log back in, you will go to the ?Vehicles? link at the top of the page and fill in the appropriate information. You may register only one vehicle.

?Next, go to the ?Parking? link at the top of the page and read through Augsburg?s parking regulations. Once you agree to Augsburg?s parking regulations, you will register a parking permit. Ignore the map displayed on the next page ? it is not an Augsburg map. Click on the correct student link (commuter, resident, or New Hall) on the right side of the page and proceed through to the payment page.

?On the payment page, click the ?purchase this permit? button. A screen will pop up and show you your final order. Now you?ve completed the online registration!

OTHER FAQs:
Q: When will ticketing begin?
A: All campus lots will be monitored through January 20th, and ticketing will begin on January 21st.

Subject: Redefine the Rainbow Friday, Saturday, & Sunday

Submitter:
Ross Murray, Campus Ministry Associate; Tutoring Services Coordinator, Campus Ministry and Academic Enrichment

Message: As you return you campus, you will see posters up for a conference entitled, Redefine the Rainbow. This is a conference sponsored by Campus Ministry, ASAC, QSU, Student Activities & Orientation, and a host of other organizations. This conference may be for YOU!

You are invited to Redefine the Rainbow. It is the weekend of January 20-22 at Augsburg College. The conference features keynote speaker Christian de la Huerta, singing duo Jason & DeMarco, The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler (performed by Augsburg students), workshops, a marketplace of resources, and worship with a local affirming congregation.

The conference is for students who are interested in exploring the connection between spirituality and sexuality. We will be exploring several spiritual paths, including Christianity, and probably some you have never heard of before. It should have a broad appeal for students in many faith traditions (or just figuring it out).

Our conference web site is www.augsburg.edu/qsu/redefinetherainbow. This conference is FREE to Augsburg students, faculty and staff. People are also registering from off campus. They are paying a fee for a conference that you can attend for free. Feel free to show up to any or all of the activities associated with the conference.

All events are in the Foss Center. Christian de la Huerta speaks at 4:30 on Friday. The Jason & DeMarco concert is at 4:30 on Saturday. For other details, visit www.augsburg.edu/qsu/redefinetherainbow.

Subject: Art exhibition receptions this evening!

Submitter:
Kerry Morgan, Coordinator of Galleries and Exhibits, Art

Message: Join us from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. this evening for two art receptions. In the Christensen Center Art Gallery meet Terry Gydesen, whose photographs in the show "Justice for All?" provide a commentary on the controversial subject of gay rights. In the Gage Gallery, Barbara Claussen will be available to answer questions about her installation "Borders" that explores the boundaries between public and private spaces. If you haven't interacted with this exhibition yet, come on in and join the dialogue. I can't think of a better way to start off the weekend than enjoying some thought-provoking art, good food and drink, and pleasing flute music.
