Session 1: The Syllabus

Thursday, November 17, 3:30-5:00 p.m. in Cedar.

A syllabus provides an initial point of contact between professor and student. As such, it plays a critical role in the establishment of the learning environment not only by the stated objectives, policies, and expectations, but also by the tone of the communication.

Criteria of evaluating syllabi will be discussed, then used to evaluate sample syllabi. Please bring to the workshop a copy of a syllabus you would like to revise.

The workshop will be facilitated by John Schmit and Matt Haines.
To pre-register call: 612-330-1229 or e-mail: martin@augsburg.edu.

Message: November 15 is set aside as a day of celebration to reflect on the meaning of giving and what it makes possible for the enrichment of our world.

Since 1869, the Augsburg community has benefited from the generosity of those who preceded them. Now, it's the gifts of current alumni, faculty, staff, and friends that continue this legacy for coming generations of Augsburg students.

Whom would you honor with gratitude for what they do or have done to make Augsburg great today? Each gift--no matter how great or small-benefits Augsburg and makes a difference toward our goal. Today is a great day to take that step.

If you aren?t able to contribute financially, I encourage you to participate in one (or more!) of these other wonderful opportunities.

Week #1: (November 14th through November 18th)
Book Drive
Clean off those book shelves and bring all those books you won?t read again to the information desk in Christensen Center. Books collected will be donated to various charities that support children, battered women?s shelters, and state prison programs.

Weeks #2- #3: (November 21st through December 2nd)
